Same issue here. I did a wipe several times before and after the restore of beta 3, but sms still not working. Hope that jboogie can fix this in future version. I really want to use this rom.

Yes , force close when system is booted and everytime i try to start it manually.

But how can we make a Froyo 2.2 for Defy?

I'm trying to flash that rom. But clockworkmod wont find the custom rom.
After pressing restore, there is nothing. If I backup, then only my current backup appears.

I placed your rom into sdcard/goakprev/backup. Is this folder name correct (because sometimes this forum is referring to goapkrev). Is this a typo?

I would be grateful if you could provide an install guide for dummies.

that was a typo, it seems, did you extract the downloaded .rar, and put the beta 3 directory under /backup

quick side note, I installed Jit Esclair V2 from this forum, and didn't wipe, everything worked fine with beta 3 plus I have swype

don't create the folder, first backup your orignal using rom this will create it, then just add beta3 as a sub directory

I have now put the extracted files into a zip archive. Then I chose "Install zip from SD card". Will this do the job as well?

no, I don't have the defy in front of me, but u don't zip the rar after extracting it, u put the extracted rar which is beta3 directory and its contents under /backup then use restore, not install zip from sdcard when in recovery

that beta3 folder contains a backup img to restore

the directory is on your sdcard if you have created a backup with recovery goapkrev/backup

that's where u put beta3 directory and contents, then use recovery to restore and choose directory


are you sure you have root?
are you using the right clockwork recovery mod?

and if you copy from the pc to sdcard are u choosing to mount your sdcard as memory card access


the backup you create of your existing Rom will be listed under goapkrev/backup and what every the date is

well you are making progress, try downloading the .rar again from the op link, and extracting, coping to the sdcard

Beta 4 will be out on christmas day hopefully... im still working on it with someone else as well. Most likely it will no longer be beta! Just hold tight guys.

I was just playin, your work is the reason I picked up this phone. good deal only reason I said that to begin with was that linepack screen capture u posted said beta 4, on the bottom, thought u were holding out lol

lol no i wont hold out. still have a few things to work on and it will be out... psh maybe before christmas.. kinda hard to work on this since i manage retail busy all the time working.
