I'm actually hoping someone will eventually help me out with the kernel since I don't own the device non-booting kernels could delay releases.

Edit: I think I'm going to have to revisit the 4.8 toolchain and for now just go with 4.7. I'll have to rebase the kernel source again so it might take awhile.

Well I was forced into the N4 when someone decided to steal a device that was mailed to me.....so life in the city hardly changes for me :D

Your knowledge of kernels far exceeds mine. But I'll be the guinea pig and log whatever needs logged for you. I haven't got around to flashing yet, mostly just been running around but I'm gonna be in nand land soon and then on to saber

That's cool. I'm waiting to see what the next nexus is going to be. Probably going to be another lg device but who knows.
GCC 4.8 is still really beta so I'll probably have to wait for gnu to implement fixes and release a official version first.
We'll have to get on talk sometime and chat about ROM stuff when we both have some free time :)

What kernel does it come with? Stock won't work.

Well it's from Google's kernel source so it's pretty much stock. That's the reason I was asking so if I need to add in any modifications to the kernel to make it work I can. Just trying to minimize the amount of ROM releases for just one or two fixes.

My gallery become something like this. Any idea?

I'm having this same issue. **I think because your not really providing details at all.

Here is my issue. Before coming to saber mod I wiped system/data/cache/dalvik flashed the ROM and flashed what goomanager said was the latest gapps for my device. Well they crashed upon boot, and I only had paranoid gapps so I flashed them and everything is fine but my gallery.

It will display new pictures taken since flashing saber mod but all my old pictures are showing in gallery as video and will not display anything.

I'm using QuickPic from play store as my gallery for right now and will fresh flash later with gapps sparksco linked and see if anything changes.

I think the issue with gallery may be related to some gapps including a prebuilt camera app or gallery? The ROM includes two galleries, one prebuilt which is the one shown in launcher, and the aosp one for things like picture/video editing. The prebuilt one enables photo syncing that's why there's two just for compatibility sake. On my n7 the cm gapps work OK for me but not sure about the n4.

Yeah it won't work since Google changed the kernel so modules won't work right off the bat. Something like that. I'm not that familiar with it. Someone please correct me if wrong.

I know they disabled module loading but in my kernel it's not disabled. I've added sweep2wake feature to the kernel from bricked kernel but it's disabled by default. In the next build it should work. The current ROM I don't think it will work.

Glad you started a thread. I'm using banks gapps and have no issues at all. You know I'll test as well.
