Battery life pretty bad here, not using very much, draining like 10% in an hour or so. I am using the custom kernel from the first page.
That's a really nice app, I agree, but not needed at all for this one as the Toggle2G-app handles all that itself. You can use it with tasker though, if you desire. But as said: the task we were talking about should work with the app itself.
battery's kept up remarkably well on this ROM today 14hours and 36% remaining - stock kernel.
but i'm guessing 'limiting background process to 4' did that :-/
Did you do turn off any of the animations? or cut down on the animation scale?
nope, everything else is as is.
just a heads up though - i'm not sure if 'Limiting the processes to 4' kills background apps like viber/ whatsapp. when I logged back in, a whole bunch of whatsapp messages got pushed to me.
will keep an eye out and report back in case I spot that happening again.

strange, maybe someone in the thread for that app can help you or have at least similar problems. for me, the app is working as intended but I?m also just a user.
Try monitoring what your phone is doing. I had the same drain but somehow it disappeared after flashing the kernel. My settings are:
1.1 ghz with conservative governor.

That's the one I was having drains with, same with the Thermaljdsaofusd kernel. So I don't know, probably wont keep this around, i have a Nand of SlimICS.
I must say the battery is draining fast, however the smoothness just keeps me with this rom. As soon as OTA is out, the drain issues will be gone for sure!

Yes flashable through CWM.
And to disable backlight keys u will need kernels with BLD functionality, try air kernel.

From this mod , you can go to Google Now with holding Home softkey & drag it upwards . Really cool .
**But you may need to change the dpi to a lower value for better results

I tried them & they work with my rom . Don't forget to thank the original poster .7ABOUT GETTING CUSTOM KERENELS WORKING : below is the guide i posted earlier .
And a few more tips .
I think the BIGMEM kernels won't work with JB yet , because we need specific lib files to get video and camcoder working which will surely interfere with JB libs . so try above with the kernels that are not bigmem .
I'm now on Airkernel 3.5 ( link for the file i modified & used ) & it works perfectly , + i get BLD , ( bln not working apperently ) touchwake , Vodoo sound working . & I think the battery life will be good too . so try the above method with normal kernel versions without bigmem . older releases of Matr1x / Air / Trinity / will surely work . Make sure to read the above guide & edit the zip before flashing .5Hi Oodie,

This ROM is so sweet. I am falling in love with Jelly Bean because of it
I miss some extra features though (they will surely come out in custom ROMs when proprietary binaries will be out):
- Volume wake
- Battery percentage
- HighBigMem patch
