They also moved the data files for offline speech recognition to /data/eos-srec. That saves 33 MB or so right there. The EOS gapps have cut out everything available on the play store giving them a much smaller footprint.

Yes, that was a clever idea. The use of symlinks is a great way to safely move large items out of the system partition.

I made another change as well in my personal version. Made the face unlock and srec optional since I never use either of them. I added some checks to the install-optional script that looks for files like /sdcard/.gapps/no-faceunlock. If the file exists it skips that item. Also removed the srec files from the main backup script as there is no need to back them up if they are on /data.

Lemme jump in here just real quick. Resizing /system is dead and any effort will lead to certain brick. The partition offsets are mapped in the bootloader. And it's a signed Motorola bootloader so we know how that goes. Symlinking and bloat removal is the best way to approach this. Also facelock on Xoom for jb is dead atm too. We need non-neon libs and they just don't exist in the wild, yet. Btw I dig the rescaled recents thumbs. Looks clean :highfive:. Won't troll your thread anymore. Promise, maybe.thanks for the updates Zig and trust me man, take the weekend off, we will be fine
and not to get too off topic regarding symlinks and the /system partition size, but since this is linux, can we not resize that partition and make it whatever we want? or edit fstab and have /system mounted somewhere else?
thanks for explaining that about /system, makes sense. wish it was as easy as any hard drive/partitioning schemeLemme jump in here just real quick. Hey z1gackly - would be keen to see this if you could mod it inAny suggestions for features you want? I am thinking about digging around in AOKP and seeing if I can pinch any goodies from ROM Control, but I'm also open to any other suggestions.

I use Nova launcher ... the row at the bottom is the dock, and the ones above are on the homescreen. You can play with the number of icons and the spacing to move them relative to each other. I keep five homescreens each with just a few icons and at most one folder, and the dock is visible on each screen. Keeps it simple.now THAT is cool!!! updating now!!!
question - how do you get one row of icons to be close together and then another row to be farther apart?
