[ROM][KANG][ENGLISH] MokeeOS Based ROM Beta2 Update1 + my ROM upgrader (10/06/12)

This rom is making me sweat, but i don't give up for the moment

I am still highly surprised by how it works from scratch. Really smooth and fast.

I just did my 'n' flash :-D It failed again after restoring using Titanium. But this time i was restoring a backup done from Mokee install and config So, really, looks MokeeOs and Titanium doesn't fit very well.

Any case, i did all wipes and reinstall beta2. Just installed Rom Manager and then update with your new Rom Upgrader. It went perfectly.

After restart, for any action it is asking me if complete the action using 'launcher' or 'screenLock'. I think you need to fix that.

- still time and weather widget cannot find my city (out of China),
- very bad thing, just taking a photo with camera is rebooting phone (at least with this beta2 upgrade1, phone is restarting, cause with beta2, using camera went to continues bootloops). I cannot make camera works
- the rest is working fine for me (basic things installed). Now i am gonna play with it. First to enable data2ext to have 1GB internal memory for applications and then start to install my apps. I am really scared! crossing fingers to have no problems this time!

- Just one more thing, why did you removed Solid Explore? i had no problems with that app. and i see it very powerful app.

aww, thx for pointing out about camera, didn't test that out. ummm using data2ext will slow ur machine down, i include link2sd for u already why not use it link2sd move only apk, dalvik, libs, so ur machine still fast.
about the weather clock i can't do anything cos it's server side not in apk side.

about solid explorer, i just don't want to put too much third party app, those u can always find it in Play Store.

Download the upgrader again i put mokeeos camera back, removed screenlock so no choosing at boot start u can download it back in launcher settings, and i put new launcher 3.0 it's so beautiful now.

Of all gingerbread ROM i used and tested this is the fastest for me what did u get for bench mark in average on ur previous ROM?

- downloading new update...i guess i just need to flash it, right?

- about titanium...i remove backups from previous roms...last restore i tried was for a backup taken on this Mokee rom. For the moment, i will not use Titanium and try installing apps by hand,

- about link2sd and data2ext; the thing is using a data2ext zip file i get 1GB additional internal storage space (from external sd card) to install apps. That's a great thing....i will search for instructions on what i am doing for you to check,

here the string.xml in the attachment, just unzip and open string.xml file in Notepad++ and translate all the text in Black to your language, it's easy but time consuming

In above post (page 2 in this thread) you can get strings.xml. See above for instructions on how to translate into Italian. Then you can provide with file to Homi3kh to include it.

- when finished a call made by me, acore app is force closing. If I receive the call, it is not.
- new lock screen has little delay (it shows desktop for a while),
- you recomend disabling surface dithering and enabling 16 bit transparency. It says it needs a reboot. After rebooting, changes are undone,
- removed apps in your last upgrade are shown in settings/apps. Showing 0 bytes size. Not a problem, I just removed. Maybe showing as I applied both upgrades?

- I have 1500 score on antutu benchmark. My best score with cm 9 by Zeubea (great rom too) was over 1400.

I keep on installing my apps, for the moment I am excited with this rom. Launcher flies and everything working perfectly! Many thanks again!

How can I replace phone.apk ?
Should I pack it in your last upgrade zip.
Cause it is not possible to install it, neither to replace it in system/app mounted in rw .

just extract phone.apk from beta then replace it in ur current ROM via Root Explorer, and set permission to rw-r--r--

i don't want to stop working on this but have to, cos mokee it self is in version 0.3 only have to give time for mokee team to update it then i'll update this too lol

to ease ur work, just use Google Translator Toolkit, search for it and upload the string and let it translate to ur language then u just need to proof reading and check if everything is correct it's much faster

Latest update (Beta 2 Update 1) is great. Launcher is super smooth and fast. Camera with the integrated barcode scanner is awesome! Well done homi3kh

i don't want to stop working on this but have to, cos mokee it self is in version 0.3 only have to give time for mokee team to update it then i'll update this too lol

I am having the acore force close with all calls made by me.

Have you mounted the system as R/W? When you have delete the phone.apk from system/app then just copy paste the one you want there and set as rw-r--r--.

Yes, i mount /system as RW, delete phone.apk (reply from system is that it is deleted), but as soon as i try to paste new phone.apk it force closes saying something that it cannot overwrite...or something similar (sorry, i have no exact message). I guess phone.apk is running all the time and it is not possible to overwrite it.
It goes to a force closes loop and i can only shutdown phone and restart it. After restart, all phone.apk is there working as usual.

Is the message complaining about insufficient space?
Do nandroid backup and see how it is in other ROM/version?
check if your bootloader still unlocked or is it locked somehow.

Sorry just tested what realpikolo has been saying and it happened to me too. Ending a call to someone made by me results in android.process.acore stopping unexpectedly. Not really a big issue for me though.
