I disabled the built in equalizer in retro music player an activated the system equalizer an now it works.
Thank you. Sometimes the solution is so easy.
I have not encountered this kind of problem, but maybe you can already do a cache wipe and dalvik cache from TWRP and see what happens
In the settings, set the phone app as the default, that should solve the issue.. ?

why did you use kernel 3.18.71 in the new version when using kernel 3.18.114 in the previous version? what's the change? @The Marionette
If you are actually asking that even though I pretty much stated the answer in the changelog, you probably don't even have a clue what those kernel numbers stand for in the first place.

Anyone not hearing sound with the music players when earphones are plugged? Sound through the earphones when playing videos in the youtube app work though.
