Could someone please make a decent mirror of this file. Downloading results in really slow download speed or a disconnection after a time

Cancel that, it was just the internet connection

After installing the deodexed version lots of apps crashed and "back" button stopped working. Reboot didn't help. I seen same behavior on other 4.4.4 deodexed ROMs. Seems like version 4.4.4 can't be deodexed.
Also recovery is asking politely to update the binary inside the zip. I'm not sure what it means.

Same here. Read about other deodexed also having this problem. Mostly Google apps that are crashing. I tried to add a new Google account. Phone says there are problems connecting to Google servers. Going back to 4.4.3 for the time being

I can confirm that there are rampant Google app FC errors with the deodexed variant. I've tried it twice, three times flashing. They still error out-right. :crying:
Just for info, it is possible to deodex stock odexed ROM while system is running. No need to modify apks or jars in deoxsida kitchen or anything that alters files. Switch to ART and simply delete .odex files. Then go to dalvik again [emoji13]

I edit build.prop to change DPI but nothing is different after a reboot. Works on custom roms, do I need to do something different on stock?

Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

Same is on stock. It's working on factory images, so it should work here also.
Use texdroider_dpi app from store if manual way is not working.

Can anyone post a link to the deodexed 4.4.3 version? 4.4.4 deodexed is unusable due to the force closing Google apps.

You can easily turn 4.4.4 odexed version into deodexed one. Just delete .odex files from zip before flashing.
They are in /app, /priv-app and /framework subdirectories of /system root directory.

Error in deodexed version here is in using deoxsida kitchen, as it must not be used on ART enabled builds.
All apk and jar files in stock 4.4.4 builds are already deodexed! Otherwise ART engine could not work.

I flash stock image, switch to ART engine and do deodexing on working system with Root Explorer. Then switch to Dalvik again.
It's kind a funny, doing what was impossible before.

Kind Regards, vr

Thanks. I did see your earlier post about switching to ART, deleting the odexed files, then switching back, and decided to give it a whirl. I've been running it for a day now, and so far so good. Much appreciated. :good:

I spent a week using this rom (Odexed) and I had nothing but problems with it, unfortunately!! I was never able to get Google Play Services working right, and since I use Hangouts exclusively for SMS/MMS/Google Voice and VoIP, that's a big problem. I never once got a single incoming call through Hangouts to ring or even come through on my phone...all I got were missed call emails and voicemail notifications. Strangely enough, though, everything else seemed to work just fine...including outgoing calls with hangouts and SMS/MMS/GV both incoming and outgoing with hangouts. It's very strange. I was able to use most apps normally, like the play store, maps, etc...all which are part of the Google Apps suite...but certain things just wouldn't work, like incoming hangouts calls, like I mentioned, and another one I noticed was play rewards...I never got any notifications for that app either. I tried reflashing from scratch, flashing over the rom again, updating the play services apk manually, etc. Every single boot I had a FC for play services and GPS location.

So, until the official L launch I'm going back to the official 4.4.4 factory image. Thanks for your efforts on this rom...It just never worked right for me, and I wanted to mention this.

That's really weird! I used it for a while and had no problems.
