  • Nearly done! Migration cleanup is mostly done. There are a small number of issues left that we continue to work on, but all the heavy lifting is done. By request, I ported this project to the vs980, d800, d801, d802, d803 and ls980. I don't own a G2 (maybe soon!) so let me know how it works.

Stripped down AOKP 4.4.2 base, trying to make it as lightweight as possible. ~ 159 Mb zip

The goal is to provide an efficeint, minimal groundwork for users to customize the way they like it.

Amazing battery life.

Base install has only ten apps in the drawer! (see Screenshots section above)

- Rooted

- ROM Control

- Working ART

- Removed -
.. Google Analytics via noAnalytics Remix
.. Stock Apps (Gallery, Browser, see Changelog below for complete list)
.. Live Wallpapers
.. Bootanimations
.. Stock ringtones/alarms/notifications
.. Bloat

- Silent camera

- AOKP kernel

Other optimizations coming!

bareBones download link hosted by XDA Dev-DB (at the top of the thread)

Minimal GAPPS

Current recommendation is Paranoid Android GAPPs package.

BaNKS minimal GAPPs started causing FCs and other issues, so until that's resolved try PA.

Installation Instructions

Make sure you are on the latest CWM/TeamWin Recovery!

1) Nandroid Backup
2) Wipe Data & Cache/Factory Reset (if you experience issues, it's probably due to a dirty flash over an old version)
3) Flash ROM
4) Flash GAPPS (optional)
5) Reboot
6) Enjoy!

You have to be on web view to see the tabs at the top of the op. Besides screenshots and discussion.

can someone tell me if this is based of r1 or r2? I prefer roms based on r2, they are always more stable and fluent to me. less to zero SoDs. reboots and freezes...I wil likely give this a shot regardless but r2 is a preference that will make me not think twice

For the rest of us smart guys.... Me included.
Click the downloads tab above the OP.

Its amazing that I've never seen anyone use that and I've been downloading since the original g1.

Thanks giving this a run!
Edit... This is on the mobile web.

For us "other" dumb people, give US a break and not be so rude. I wrote that at 4.30a. Some people have probably been here longer then you and understand things that you may not. Be wise with your words next time Mikkey81.

I have had it running for a couple of hours and I am happy. Thanks, I love a rom when it is stripped down bare, I removed a few others things just to find out how stripped this can get before it starts to falter. Once again, thanks.

So let's hope this is the last post on the subject...
If you are using the app, you must select web view from the options in order to get the download. The download link is not part of the first post... It's in another tab on the top of the thread. It's little used functionality that always confuses people but is actually pretty neat.
I read through the comments and no one was trying to pick on anyone it's just easy to misunderstand when you are just reading. The 'smart' comment was actually self-effacing humor.
