I didn't even think about DSP. Glad to hear you got that working. Let me know if you experience the issues again. I'll be running another build this week so I'll look into a few things with the Bluetooth.

I sure will. I left out what I enabled in DSP..but it was Headset..but yeah so far so good.I've called a few peeps now with it and all is good so far. Cool thank you sir.

Been off the map and not getting notifications for some reason. DSP manager is the key to must people issues with blue tooth. It's just so easily overlooked. I don't even use the crap lol. Stweaks volume smashes all that so I'm good but Bluetooth, yep. Sorry, could have saved you the trouble lol

Not a problem. Just glad it works cos I like this rom alot. Might even put it on the wifes phone ( We have the same phone ) when everything seems to be more perfected. But don't know what else you could do. lol

I'm learning about a few tweaks and things I can do with it just to make it smoother and such. Might be a while before they are all implemented though. I'm still very new to rom building. I call myself a half noob now.

New build SHOULD be up tomorrow. Initially it was failing on me tonight, but I'm not sure if it's the changes they made and something I'll have to change, or id it was just my build machine acting up on me.

I'll be giving it another go in the morning.

cool. Had to go back to stock this morn. The touch pad for the phone was to laggy. I'm a truck driver for ups and need that to dispatch out to go home. the numbers were sticking and not letting me push them in time to leave. lol after a couple restarts it worked well enough to put in the info I needed to dispatch out. The headset trouble came back a couple times but I would go back in and disable and re enable DSP and the check my headset to make sure it was working with the recorder. Looking forward to the new build. :fingers-crossed:

Were you using the stock kernel that comes with the ROM or were you using a custom kernel? I recommend using @rogersb11 Shift kernel with this ROM. The stock CM kernel that comes with it, in my opinion, is absolute crap. CM kernels always have been. The Shift kernel makes things run much smoother, and there is a lot to tune with it to make it run like butter.

Hate that the headset issue keeps happening. I've been doing some digging but haven't found anything definitive that I could change or tweak to make that issue go away. I'm getting ready to try to run a new build off now. Hopefully this one will work out better for you. :good:

Let me know how it goes. Some people say the stock CM kernel is fine, but a large portion of people hate it because it can definitely be laggy. Shift has a lot of great tuning options through the Stweaks app. Lots of governors, control over cpu speeds and voltages, sound tweaks, all sorts of fun stuff. Not sure if it will help out the Bluetooth issue but you never know. I run my builds on my S2 which my son uses to play games and do Goggle Hangouts with his grandparents. I always flash Shift immediately following a new build. It's a great, stable, and feature packed kernel for running KK builds on this aging device.

Still facing build errors today so I may not have a new build up until tomorrow.

My plan is to get on a schedule of having a new build up every Wednesday. This gives me several days after each build for the other S2 variants to see what has changed in the common files for them, as well as any major changes in the general Carbon source.

Today, I'm encountering errors I've never dealt with before so there are new things to be learned. Of course, that can only help me in the long run.

So bare with me. If not today, then definitely tomorrow, there will be a new build.

And happy to see the proximity sensor fixes (looking at the changelog).......................expecting the next build.

Those changes aren't as huge as you may think. A lot has to do with delay times I believe. I'm still waiting on a response to be able to install the ROM with pocket mode set to off so people don't have to worry about the screen coming on when they don't want it to. That's the biggest complaint the ROM has when freshly installed. It's not a bug or kernel issue, but a setting that has to be disabled. I frankly don't use it at all. Not sure many people do.

FYI, there's trouble brewing over on the N5 side with Carbon rebasing with CM instead of Slim. It may only affect hammerhead, but it may be something to keep an eye on, @TheGeekyNimrod. Great work getting this going for the i777.
Oh great lol. As far as I can tell I think it's just Hammerhead. I'll check out the Gerrit and see if it will end up being something that affects all of them.

UPDATE: New build will definitely not be out until tomorrow. My apologies. I think, after this build is done, I'm going to switch my Linux distro to something a little more stable and dev friendly. Hopefully then, the errors like I'm seeing today, and the issues with the new Ubuntu won't get in my way of steadily releasing builds, and in the near future, tweaking a few things with Carbon to make it more smooth and perform a bit better.

Again, my apologies for not getting it up today like I originally wanted.

Until tomorrow..........[insert something witty]

I'm interested to hear what troubles you're experiencing that are distro specific. I've never used anything but Ubuntu, which has been enough for my needs as a builder. I assume things are different when actually developing?

@TheGeekyNimrod - Broke my new phone so I'm back to my S2 and have been looking at something different from my current CM 10.1.3 as it doesn't appear to support TWRP (so I can use encryption). Have you successfully used any i777 kernels with this ROM that bundle TWRP?

I've been using Ubuntu 14.04 on a Dell Inspiron 11 300 series laptop. Every other time it updates, something goes wrong. The other day it messed up the grub. Last week it updated, I rebooted, and lost the ability to read the wifi card. Today, it wasn't letting me update and get needed ppa. This is the third time I've had to reinstall it and go about syncing source all over again.

Not every issue I've had is build related, but it's been enough that I can't deal with it anymore.

I'm looking into BBQLinux and from what I've seen, it's pretty rad. Built for Android development, especially AOSP based ROMs.

You can try out older versions of @rogersb11 Shift kernel with TWRP. The newest builds of Shift have a custom built recovery (based on Philz I believe). It may be able to handle what you need. I've never messed with encryption so I don't know exactly what's needed for it. And that is the only KitKat compatible kernel for the i777 that uses TWRP.

Thank you for the reply. The reason for TWRP is to allow decrypted mounting of the /data partition while in recovery in order to perform ROM updates.

I'll post up results if I try.
