For this who flash this on the Phoenix 4 it does work!!!!! You need to delete the bootloaders in the package and modify the scripts to not flash them. Don't just willy nilly flash then claim it don't work you need to check the package first. Irritated me to see that

Hey OP could you link to some software that'll actually work for the K8 (2018)? The guides and such you linked to are meant for different (albeit similar) models of phone and aren't compatible with the K8 (2018), and I really think your guide(?) should reflect that

This does work as the Phoenix 4, Aristo 2, etc.. can be used with this method. I've used this ROM for a while now and is absolutely great

You need to remove all the bootloader related files though or it will cause you to end up in EDL mode

Yes I figured it out, I had a bad version of TWRP, I flashed the one called "PitchBlack-cv1-2.9.0-20190123-0125-UNOFFICIAL.zip" and this rom as well as others flash without issue as well as backup/restore functions normally.
Where did you find one that works? As soon as I boot to it moves about a half inch up and gets all wonky and I can't touch anything

Hi, how do I change the splash screen? and how do you delete the op partition I wanna see your custom screen
I'd do a format of the OP partition from recovery

mkfs.ext4 /dev/block/<OP partition block number>

You can also I believe set it up in the system as a zip file. It may have changed I haven't had this device in a while since I bricked mine and don't have a flash programmer to reset it

EDIT: actually the boot animation zip is under /op so just replace it with your own
