The j320m

I have a problem, in my j320m device the custom rom makes my device warm but moderately and the battery runs out when I leave it without charging at night. There's a solution? :confuso: The rom itself is incredible. ;)

1: background processes, if it is heating up this will use intense cpu
2: lition battery life is 2/3, without adding to the charge cycle

Please anyone have a solution for FRP lock using family link?
After enabling the family link account, the developers option is missing (obvious) but after restart no boot and stays and frp message ?.
Thanks

Hi. After the very painful process of rooting a Samsung using a Linux PC, I finally managed to boot this ROM. And while sure, 7.1.2 is close to ancient as well, it's a very noticable step up from 5.1, especially since touchwizz is a pain in the bum. So thanks to everyone involved with Lineage and especially to those who ported it to this device.

Though I do have some issues that i want to adress.
A) MTP seems to be borked. It doesn't show all my files on pc. To be exact: mtp:/SM-J320F/extSdCard/ and appears empty apart from the Android-, Music- and LOST.DIR-folder and stuff i move there via PC shows up too. The other files and folders don't show, though they do exist and are accessable on the phone itself.
B) I made a screenshot and when i tried to copy it to my PC it shows as corrupted, I am able to upen it on the device. This might be related to A).
Those two are critical, now nitpicks:
C) The Backlight option for hardware keys seems a bit stupid on a phone without luminous hardware buttons
D) Since adaptive brightness isn't an option the text in the settings under "Display" is useless, it might be worth it to let it say wether or not Live Display is enabled.

Since it's an amoled, u could enable Always On Display btw. i think it's just a flag or something.

Is this ROM still in active development?

A, B) MTP works fine for me. Maybe you done that but I need to ask, you enabled android debugging in developer options right? Try to turn off the phone, remove sdcard, boot up and then add sdcard again and connect to pc.
D) I guess AOD is Ambient display, so check this one.

And unfortunately, I guess this isn't maintained anymore.

This is almost insulting. I'm not that dumb. Not even I would flash Lineage 14.1 over Lollypop 5.1 Touchwizz.

Yeah, ADB was actually enabled by default
Try to turn off the phone, remove sdcard, boot up and then add sdcard again and connect to pc.
That surprisingly worked. This is my first phone with SDcard support since my very first phone back in the days (Android 2.3.6), and I didn't know what custom ROMs were back then.

nope, that's something else

R u certain about that? Maybe @djeman is still working on updates? 25th January was not that long ago. I mean long enough to raise my suspicion, but I've seen projects with longer breaks *cough* Paranoid Android *cough*.

Thing is, I found a real bug this time. Install (I guess) any Substratum theme (I obvsly didn't try every single theme out there) and when u long press the power button to bring up the power menu, the phone soft reboots.

Also the settings app needs a really long time to load after booting, same goes for the launcher I installed. (We had this bug too in the early days of Nougat on OnePlus One, but it was fixed rather quickly, I bet that fix is still somewhere on GitHub, I might dig it up if there's any hope for the J3 ever getting an update again.)

I don't use themes, only the stock one(which works perfectly fine :D). I changed the drawer to compact to make it more "comfortable" and its ok. If you like theming, lineage is not kinda your best bet, should flash something like Resurrection Remix(I used it some time ago and was pretty nice, lot of customizations, not updated like this one but good enough). And I recon djeman is not maintain this rom anymore because in the past, he was active and he said he will sell his j3 after 2019.
Anyway, it's pretty impressive to have a such phone with better security updates than 2017-2018 phones :) so I guess it's really nice even if we will not receive any updates. Did you had/used one plus one?

    Lineage OS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 7 (Nougat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

    Code:
    /*
    * Your warranty is... still valid?
    *
    * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
    * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
    * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
    * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
    * you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
    */

    Introduction
    Lineage OS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). Lineage OS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

    All the source code for Lineage OS is available in the Lineage OS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to Lineage OS, please visit our Gerrit Code Review. Your changelog is whatever was merged into gerrit.

    Installation instructions

    1. Download ROM and Optional: GApps.
    2. Copy ROM and Optional: GApps to internal storage.
    3. Optional: Perform a NANDroid backup of your current ROM (Optional but highly recommended).
    4. Wipe /data, /system and /cache.
    5. Flash ROM and Optional: GApps.
    Note: First boot can take some time. They may even loop a few times...

    It's only lineage updates as declain12345 said.

    I only launched a build without modifications except the lineage repo updated.
    I agree it's not fantastic but it's better than nothing :x

    It's the worst bug ... I tried a lot of things to fix it ... I tried differents mali kernel modules, differents vendor drivers, differents hwcomposer, differents gralloc, a lot of build options, a lot of patches on the framebuffer driver, ...
    And the result is always the same :x
    Flickering on cm14.1 and no display on los15.1 ...

    The latest update is for the october security patch, a patch on the kernel to add a missing function to destroy a socket and some changes on ril to enable more functions.
    Maybe sim contacts works and the eap-sim protocol have more chances to work now the sim can communicate with an icc logical channel.
    FM flood log removed, missing selinux rules added.
