RR is built on Lineage anyway so it's expected but on the stock ROM that's awful. ? Great hardware though, even if the GPU is super old it does a good job at everything. Pretty sure it was a restart job for me at the time I was using hotspot.

Also forgot to mention I'm not digging at Devs for not sorting it, you've done a great job was using Lineage 14.1 as a daily for at least 2-3 months. It was pretty stable a few weeks after it was bootable.

I hadn't checked the wifi tethering before i flashed to lineage but it was dropping the wpa when I restored back to the stock backup in twrp, could i have a changed kernel here?

No, if the Lineage kernel stuck when you flashed or restored stock Touchwiz your phone wouldn't boot.

I'm not familiar with building Android roms but maybe the sources from original OS get adapted/changed to boot Lineage and traces of old stuff gets left behind if devs don't notice or decide not to debug the issue.

That's my take on it... I'm probably wrong.

Hey ! Thanks for all the work, I've recently updated from LOS 13 from this (after disabling OEM Unlock by accident and rebooting my phone :( )
I've really had no issue but one, it's been a great rom to use.
The only issue I have is with GPS, with Waze and Google Maps. I drive a lot, and everytime it takes maybe 10-15mn and a few reboots of Waze to get it to find my GPS signal. And sometimes, it gets it but after some time it just loses it.
I've been wondering if there's a fix ! I've searched this thread but didn't find anything.
If that helps, I live in Europe.

You dont need to update you need to wipe all "system data and cache "Flash rom and then flash gapps

Thanks for the great ROM! It works perfectly, but it now asks for a network unlock code. (even if the phone should be unlocked) With other devices this happened to me because of an incompatible kernel. Is it the same here? any clue?

Message to all devs of j3 roms:
Today, I got a new phone for my birthday, so I won't use my j3 much. I may mess about and install some roms every now and then but not much.
I would like to say a huge thanks for making the time I spent with the j3 so much more amazing!
Once again, thanks and bye

Erik.

That is indeed what I did.
I've been having this issue even with los 13.0 and it's kinda annoying

If you don't like a rom, flash the factory image with odin (from sammobile.com). If you are having issues that you would like to resolve, please detail your installation steps. Also, a logcat may be useful (see XDA-University threads).

Have a nice day!

Have a nice day!
First I have installed twrp 3.1.2 then,
I wiped dalvik,cache,system
Then I installed the file
Logcat was full of listed only successfull
No failed error occurred, then after installing ROM, I installed gapps arm 7.1.2, it alse installed with 0% failed.
After rebooting, beginning page occurred were we have to put WiFi passwords to connect internet and log in google.
Then after another window opened in beginning only, that stated" insert sim card, this would take sometime to , and it will located in the upper back side of device and insert sim in sim tray"
I waited for a while, it still didn't detected.
Then I skipped the step and moved forward.
Then I completed the setup page, after that no sim status and imei status also!
I thought sim were expired were I checked the sim with another device it were detected.

I thought I we're wrong while installation, so I followed the same above steps to install the ROM but still not working.
When I checked for imei status, its not working.

Let me get out

and thank you for your response!!!
