Thanks for the super ROM!
Just faced a problem. Sometimes the screen flashes magenta and then turns black. Lock with the power button and then switch back on, it will be fine.
In the Lineage Update menu, clicking on the options in the upper left always occurs.
If I set "Disable HW overlays" to "on" in the developer settings, the error does not occur.

Doesn't anyone else experience this?
Have the issue as well!
Sadly your tip disabling the HW overlays does not help.

Hello, I installed this rom but when I tried to put the mbway app, in the part of putting the phone number, the continue button is not active to continue. Anyone with this problem?

Ok I've got a problem,

I've clean installed LineageOS 17.1 for the S4 I9505 along with GApps pico through OTG (from a previous older LineageOS version 14.1) after wiping internal memory, system, Dalvik cache and cache . The installation was succesfull but the phone now infinitely keeps rebooting back into TWRP recovery mode after a long while of showing the LineageOS 17.1 loading icon. Even though I have selected to reboot the System. Using TWRP 3.2.3-0.

- Reinserting the battery and boot into Download mode and then cancel doesn't break the loop.
- WIping Dalvik as well as cache also didn't fix this.

What gives?

Did you by any chance install the TWRP app from within TWRP? You shouldn't do that as it causes bootloops.

You mean after flashing the ROM when TWRP asks whether I want to install the TWRP as a system app? Yes I did.

How do I solve this? Will wiping everything again and reflash LineageOS 17.1 solve the problem?

Update:

Wiping and reflashing without letting TWRP install its app at the end indeed fixed the issue.

One small question; is it normal that with GApps pico I don't have the option to show the battery percentage nor see whether Bluetooth is on or off in the top bar of the screen?

Hi, I'm going to install lineage-17.1-20210116-UNOFFICIAL-jfltexx on my brand new Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 and please I would like to know if the usb tethering function works. If I well understood the right TWRP is the unified version twrp-3.5.1_9-0-jflte which is the last one. Thanks

    LineageOS 16.0/17.1 for Samsung S4

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device. All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. If you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit our Gerrit Code Review.

     * We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
     * thermonuclear war, or your getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
     * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
     * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
     * you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you.

    What all works

    Boot
    RIL (Calls, SMS, Data)
    Camera
    Video
    Audio
    Flash
    Led
    GPS
    Sensors
    Rotation
    Wifi
    Bluetooth
    USB
    Hotspot

    What doesn't work
    noting on Android 17.1
Possibly other things that aren't listed.

    Android 16.0
bug that bt turns itself off and on again by itself
the time span I can't say for sure.
it only happens when no music is played
    tested with JBL Duet BT

Creates a full backup of the system

    Installation Clean :

    Before you begin, save
Remove the PIN protection and then restart for TWRP recovery.
Erase data under Advanced (do not format data - this will erase the internal memory)
Delete system and cache under Advanced

Flash ROM + Gapps or nanodroid
    Optional - Flash supported root
    Restart

!!! OTA-update is like in all my Roms set up !!!

Updates can be downloaded and installed via lineageos_updates on your mobile phone.
if it should not be possible to install the update automatically or you want to install it manually, proceed as follows,
    (Selects in twrp) install/selects memory/internal memory/parent folder/data/lineageos_updates.
chooses the build and installs it and everything else you want to install and restarts after that.

    for addonsu userandroid 16.0:

to activate root navigate to Settings->About Phone and tap on build number 7 times,
go back to System on developer options and scrolls to root access and activates it.
to be able to boot from the power key to recovery on long press, it simply activates it in the developer options under Extended Restart.

Unbelievable. For quite some time I haven't had a look for new ROM's. My old s4 is serving as nevigation device purely, having a broken screen. My son also had an s4, but last week charging via USB stopped working. Now I have made the two broken machines into one fine device, running Android 9!
I installed via the LineageOS Recovery, using SD-card.
    GPS fix is quick.

Great work. Thanks to the experts.
