I am having boot loops after i have flashed Magisk 20.4
After installed the zip and gapps the phone runs fine with no issues.
But after flashing magisk 20.4 the phone runs for 1 minut or so and then it reeboots.
Magisk manager app wont start the splash screen shows up, and phone freezes and reboot....
Am i missing something?
I was on the latest stock, 11.228 and i dirtyflashed with newflasher just to make sure that the phone was completely stock before wiping and flashing the lineage zip.
Anyone have an idea what i can do to avoid the reboot after flashing magisk?
Thanks in advance

Mobile data not working

First of all, thanks so much for your awesome work.

Unfortunately mobile data isn't working for me. Turning airplane mode on and off also doesn't help. Here's the content of /cache/modem/modem_switcher_status:
Code:
0,amss_fsg_poplar_telefonica_germany_volte_vilte_vowifi_tar.mbn

Usually where I live I am able to receive EDGE. I haven't been in an area where I usually have HSPA or LTE yet, so I'm not able to test that. But EDGE definitely doesn't work for me.

If there are any other log files I can provide, please let me know. And thanks again.

@derf elot first of all thanks for your work, just took this phone and its nice to be running Lineage OS 17.1 even if unofficially, anyway, there are two things that should be improved:
1. Night light calibration should be more yellowish, for me it's too weak even on maximum value;
2. The Sony modem notification (see the attachment) keep showing every time the phone is ON, isn't it possible to hide it somehow by default?

Just disable the NetworkSwitcher app with adb

On live display use hal native - hal native and night light should turn red lmao. If not, use the last or the pre-last option

Guy’s I am having issues and I really can´t figure out what is going wrong.
I have been using lineage os for years and normally I don’t have any issues.
I am having boot loops and the phone freezes.
I installed from latest stock, and when only install the rom and boot up it works just fine.
(I wonder why it is necessary to boot in twrp after format data… that is something that I normally have done on my other devices when I installed los.)
If I make a backup in twrp 3.4.0.0 and reboot the phone the bootloops occurs.
So I am thinking that twrp are doing something that gives me bootloops.
I really would appreciate if someone could give me a clou I must do something wrong.

Did you fastboot flash recovery or fastboot flash boot? Unlike many Sony devices, this one has a dedicated recovery partition

When i was on stock my phone was rooted with magisk. In order to get magisk installed i have unlocked bootloader and flashed twrp recovery using fastboot command: "fastboot flash recovery TWRP.img" I was on twrp 3.3.1.0. I have never had any issues using twrp 3.3.1.0.
But after i have flashed twrp 3.4.0.0. it seems like something goes wrong when i habe flashed los and are making a backup in twrp 3.4.0.0......

Can Trebuchet be replaced by other launcher on LineageOs without crashes?
My experience is that after uninstall of Trebuchet I wasn't able to select an other wallpaper within Lawnchair2.

LineageOS 17.1 for Sony Xperia XZ1

    logo.png

    RELEASE

This is an alternative ROM for the Sony Xperia XZ1, offering several privacy features.

Please report any issues you observe apart from the ones listed below. Logs are needed for me to fix anything (preferably dmesg and logcat). I can't test NFC very thoroughly, to please report your findings.

    FEATURES
    • Signed with dev keys
    • Stock camera
    • WireGuard kernel support

    DOWNLOAD

You can download the latest releases here:

    poplar (G8341):
    twrp-3.4.0-0-20200809-poplar_10
    lineage-17.1-20201010-UNOFFICIAL-1.2-poplar

    poplar_dsds (G8342):
    twrp-3.4.0-0-20200809-poplar_dsds_10
    lineage-17.1-20201010-UNOFFICIAL-poplar_dsds

    poplar_canada (G8343):
    twrp-3.4.0-0-20200809-poplar_canada_10
    lineage-17.1-20201010-UNOFFICIAL-poplar_canada

Check the ChangeLog below for firmware requirements!

    INSTALLATION

Put the zip file of the ROM on your sdcard or internal storage, boot into recovery and flash. When coming from stock: boot into TWRP, format data, reboot to recovery and wipe all internal partitions. Then flash the ROM, GApps (if needed) and root (if needed).

Note: There is not going to be a LOS su addon anymore. If you need root, flash a root manager of your choice. No guaranteed support from LOS for this.

When updating from builds, simply dirty flash the ROM.

If coming from 16.0, please see advice below in second post ("UPGRADE LINEAGEOS").

    SECURITY ADVICE

Don't flash ROMs or Magisk modules which set SELinux to permissive or you welcome malware on your device!

    UPGRADE LINEAGEOS

I have not tried upgrading the device from 16.0 and cannot guarantee that it will work - You should do a backup just in case. If things go wrong, flash it as if coming from stock (see instructions in OP).

    UPGRADE FIRMWARE

    • Grab the Sony Stock firmware using e.g. XPeriFrim. You should always flash the firmware matching the LOS build.
    • Grab newflasher and put it in the same folder as the firmware files.
    • Read the newflasher original post on XDA for general instructions!
    • Remove the following from the folder so they won't get flashed:
      • all *.ta files (keep the one in the boot/ directory)
      • cache*.sin
      • fotakernel*.sin
      • kernel*.sin
      • system*.sin
      • userdata*.sin
      • vendor*.sin
    • Turn off your phone
    • Hold the volume down button and attach it via USB to your system till you see LED turning green
    • Run newflasher from within this directory to flash the remaining files
You can say yes to the first optional step, in case you don't have working drivers installed.
Skip the second optional step (dumping of trim area), it's useless if your bootloader is unlocked already and takes a long time.

    How to get root?

As mentioned before, there will not be an official su addon from LOS anymore. If you need root, flash an unofficial solution.

    Google Apps

You can download and install the Google Apps from opengapps.org. You need ARM64 and 10.x. I suggest to *always* use the pico or nano package. If you need additional apps you find them in the Play Store.

    MicroG

This ROM doesn't support Signature Spoofing. However we are watching MicroG and check if they provide newer builds e.g. for Android Pie.

    Simple Mobile Tools

This is a collection of really awesome Open Source and AD-free Apps! Don't get confused by the name! Especially the Calendar and Gallery app are really good! If you like his stuff, support him by buying the Simple Thanks app.

You can find them in FDroid and the Play Store.

Some news on new release from the thread creator?

yes, going back to the P kernel base from CAF because apparently the one for Q is causing issues with our FW. so its a bit more work to bring it up to date with 10 but I'm working on it. WiFi speeds are back to normal, and so far I haven't managed to hit the issue with the camera force closing after taking a bunch of pictures.

now I need to update it to latest Linux and CAF tags

maybe this will even fix the ims issues, but still have to test this

    Hello,

I will update the ROM in the coming days. I've been busy with other things these last weeks and currently there appears to be an issue with the latest WiFi driver that I want to have a look at first.
