Hi all,
I managed to get TWRP installed, did the repartition as suggested (lanchon-repit-20210221-cache=16M+wipe-system=1.3G+wipe-data=max-manta.zip), but with LineageOS lineage-17.1-20211215-UNOFFICIAL-manta.zip I am just getting the boot-logo (circle and elipse), even after waiting a few hours.
I have tried formatting again, but with the same results, any ideaS?

Hi everyone, i have the same problem, i did the repartition intalled the new ROM posted yesterday, Rooted with SuperSU, and installed the opengapps pico package every works fine but when i reboot it is an infinite loop of the lineage OS logo.

Have you some tips for me to fix this problem ?

Thx

Hello! First of all, my respects and my gratefulness to you Mr. @followmsi for all the great job you've done over the years to keep alive our beloved Nexus 10; a great device I think Google was not mature to handle when they brought it out.
Now my simple question: is there any chance for an Android 12L development?
I hope it does, as I think it'll be an awesome last development for our Mantas as obviously they are on their final stage of been taking on count to work on as their so limited already with their own inner components.
Thanks again!

Hi, thank you for this rom. I installed the Mindthegapps package, everyting is fine. Unfortunately I think memory is too small.
Congratulations for the work done !

I have seen that the tablet isn't certified in Google Playstore. Is there anything to do to pass this check ? I own another device running Lineage 18 and the status is certified for this one. so I guess this is a metter of identification.

I have seen hat the Exynos 5250 appears in the mainline kernel. I suppose this was added ro support a Samsung Chromebook that was using the same chip.. Maybe it worths to have a look at this in order to build a newer kernel ? Would be happy to help you working on the kernel and optimizing memory. I also found that aftermarketos is trying to support this device as well but they are using the lineage kernel for now. Let me know if I can help.

I resized the partitions this way :

Number Start End Size File system Name Flags
1 8192s 49151s 40960s ext4 efs
2 49152s 65535s 16384s param
3 65536s 98303s 32768s boot
4 98304s 163711s 65408s recovery
5 163712s 163839s 128s metadata
6 163840s 172031s 8192s misc
7 172032s 1253375s 1081344s ext4 cache
8 1253376s 4530175s 3276800s ext2 system
9 4530176s 61063167s 56532992s ext4 userdata

I didn't shrink the cache partition because I wanted to be able to install older versions of Android without changing the partitions layout again.
So I shrinked the userdata partition a bit and exactly doubled the size of the system partition. Therefore the alignment of partitions couln't be impacted. I used parted.

Here is the original layout :

Thanks again!

I stopped development of Android 11 due to many problems with (old) kernel and other issues.
I do not have the time anymore .. for all my little Android projects.
No more time left for Nexus 10 too.
As mentioned before .. I just make monthly 17.1 builds based on current sources.
Maybe at some point I will have the time to work on manta device/kernel sources again.

Cheers

For certified Play Store you will need Magisk and USNF module.

Yes, pls go ahead to work on the kernel .. any input / help is welcome.
Pls let me know your results.

Yep, if you want to install older versions of Android you require "big" cache partition.
Most user prefer to run script which does the repartition work.
If you know how to use parted, pls go ahead to make your own custom repartition - like you did.

Cheers

Hello
Are there any known Problems with Mac Address and Wifi? I have a Ubiquiti Unifi Network and cannot connect into it (wpa2-personal). Connecting to a mobile Hotspot from my mobile just works fine. I saw in the Logcat the error 'wificlientmodeimpl: fail to set factory mac address. factory mac is null.' While trying to connect, but there is a mac address in Settings shown and I already tried to change it. But doesn't help.

Or is it maybe a Security Feature from my network which is not supportet. If you have any hint, maybe i find the problem. WPA3 is disabled btw.

Thx for any hint :)

Weird one here. I have two of these devices that my kids use for watching cartoons. Every morning, the Wifi is off. I know that it's not my kids with buttery fingers as I have left them in my locked office overnight to rule out any kid's fingers turning it off.

What would cause the Wifi to turn off overnight?

Thanks, followmsi.
One question to all users. On boot my N10 displays the PIN screen and accepts the PIN, but then after 10 seconds fades to black, and this behaviour happens again and again until I wait at least 2 minutes, at which time it displays the home screen. Is this normal or am I just lucky...? :)

Mine does that too. If the Pin login is not used, I think it boots right up, but I like the security of a PIN at least.

Thanks to all the contributors to this thread.

I have updated my Nexus 10 with the following:
changed partition: repit lanchon-repit-20210221-cache=16M+wipe-system=1.3G+wipe-data=max+wipe-manta.zip
installed ROM: lineage-17.1-20220816-UNOFFICIAL-manta.zip
Installed open_gapps-arm-10.0-nano-20220215.zip

All is working and great to have resurrected the Nexus 10 from the graveyard.

after many years I tried to follow your list of applied steps, and partition (repit did its work after many minutes) and installation worked charmly, but failed with opengapps you mentioned
any specific cleanups/wipes of storage? it fails with error 70
I thought partitions are ok due to repit setup, but .. :(

Thank you

Is this happening on fresh boot only .. or also on following unlocks ?

Need to check this .. when time is left.

    Lineage-17.1 - September 2022

I had some problems with Netflix updates from PlayStore.
Even device is certified Netflix won't show up anymore, and can't be updated.
For this reason I made second build using differrent fingerprint. (Pixel C)
Now I can update Netflix again. Maybe it's just my installation.
    You may test yourself ..

    Known issues:
    - HWC (hardware composer) is partly broken (icons are not shown correctly and black home screen - some overlays have problems .. etc.)
    - Encryption seems not to work - and has not been tested. -> Pls do not encrypt your data partition yet.
    - NFC may not work correctly and drains a lof of battery - Pls disable thru settings menu.
    - If you set pin, pattern or password to unlock the device pls be patient - if you press "confirm" the system is freezing for a few minutes - just wait.
    - Camera is not working .. same problem like on Nougat. (broken HAL1 camera and unsupported HAL2 camera)

lineage-14.1-20181218-UNOFFICIAL-manta.zip (DISCONTINUED) -> Pls check here for new builds !

    Known issues:
    - Camera is not working (broken HAL1 camera and unsupported HAL2 camera)
    - Headphone jack is not fully working
Due to the new kernel sources the Audio jack will not work correctly anymore. (2017-07-27)
If you need working Audio jack - pls install this kernel via TWRP: manta-kernel-lineage_20170509.zip

    Installation:
    1. Boot into TWRP
    2. Wipe system, cache, dalvik and data. (Not required if you upgrade from previous build)
    3. Install lineage-xx.x-yyyyyyyy-UNOFFICIAL-manta.zip
    4. install opengapps or beansgapps (optional)
    5. install SuperSU.zip and/or Magisk.zip
    6. Reboot into system ..

    - Please install Magisk.zip and/or SuperSu.zip yourself.
    - Due to systemless rooting - if you have installed magisk and/or supersu before you need to install it again !
    - If you install SuperSu.zip it will boot twice - no panic, it's normal !
    - If you had gapps installed before you don't need to install gapps again - the installer will take care.
    - If you face any strange issues, pls do a factory reset via TWRP first.
    - If you have problems with SetupWizard from opengapps - pls install opengapps after first system boot.
    - BeansGapps SetupWizard should have no problems at all !

System and Cache repartitioning / Opengapps: Error 70
The current system partition is (getting) full !
You need to do repartition your system and cache partitions .. either via TWRP package or manually via shell.
    It's an one time task.

But the filesystem of the system.img inside the ROM will keep always the same size .. approx. 800mb.
The filesystem does not know the "real" size of the actual partition.
In general .. If you install an image into a partition the filesystem will have the size of the image (in our case 800mb).
The free space we got thru repartitioning needs to be allocated again.

For this reason we need to enlarge/resize the filesystem after each ROM update and/or clean install.
Only the filesystem .. the partition itself will stay untouched.
The automatic enlarge/resize of the filesystem is part of the ROM installer.

For manual repartitioning have a look here:

    Finally :)

It was not the kernel !
We are using fresh built OMX libs for each ROM .. since Nougat and before.
But the Oreo libs do have some problems.
For this reason we use prebuilt Nougat libs now ..

No Youtube problems anymore .. no video and memory issues anymore !
