Installing ROM, Gapps & Magisk on the VS980
I compiled some steps below to hopefully help others. (Assuming you have already rooted your phone and have TWRP recovery installed)
Current ROM & Gapps installed on the VS980 (coming from previous 18.1 build)
* lineage-18.1-20220627-UNOFFICIAL-vs980
* BiTGApps-arm-11.0.0-R26_signed
* Magisk 25.2(25200) (I flashed this in recovery then rebooted and installed the Magisk app to get to the latest version
* Does not Pass Safety Net (Known Issue)
Enter Recovery / TWRP
HOW TO ENTER RECOVERY MODE:
1. Take your phone and press the power button; then select “power off”.
2. Wait while your phone is shutting down, wait a few seconds and then proceed.
3. Now, press the volume down and power button at the same time for 2 or 3 seconds until the LG logo appears on the display.
4. Then release the buttons and then press and hold them again.
5. Keep pressing the buttons until the recovery mode menu will be displayed on your LG G2. You should see "Rooted" at the top left of screen.
STEPS AFTER ENTERING RECOVERY MODE:
wipe > advanced wipe = (advanced wipe is not necessary but I use this method)

* Wipe Cache / Davlik

Reboot System
Install Magisk App 25.2(25200) Open app and update it to latest version. Reboot

The banking app does not function properly, so I called the bank and they told me I needed to update my both devices to the latest OS, so I am guessing security updates?

I hope the last 4 builds are the best builds since I deleted all the previous builds from 20220112 - 20220921 but kept md5/sha256 sums for both the rom/recovery which comes out to 37.
I'm curious if anyone will make unofficial builds.
A stable custom kernel would be awesome. I have been fiddling with kernel tweaking magisk modules with only minor improvements and sometimes a couple issues. Some of those modules require payments to unlock all the features.
We will see soon if /e/OS and LineageOS for microG will continue to make new builds for our device as those are the only other roms I know that have current builds being made.
Edit: Looks like maintainers @aleasto can readd devices as monthly builds. That's a relief.

I just got my phone working after being down for several years, I finally get to tinker with it. I'd love it if you could push for monthlies. My service device is still carrier locked until it's paid off which is another device you maintain "Google 4a (5G) - bramble". So double thanks.
Yeah,..next year is era of 5G.. 2gb RAM is just a trash?!
Nowtime use 8gb RAM (minimum) and 12 is a MAX?!!

Time to faced the reality,..Im so mad n obsessed with G2 with it most affordable n comfortable touch on my palm of my hands?!
However.. LG optimus G2 and Samsung galaxy S7 is THE BEST in DECADE .. hope U agreed with?! What I hate from nowtime mobile phone is their stupid cam. hole on front and back..make me sick..
Now I used only LG G2 and S7 with latest custom modified ROM until the last..the end..next 2 years is a MAX!! I can use both for my daily driver..still ok and being good?!!
Im proud with it,..no shame?! Goodbye everyone..we've wonderfull time almost 10 years..

I would still love to see builds for the D800, and be grateful for them.
I just deleted driver , then Connected my redmi note 7 pro and it can now transfer files to amd from pc.yes, thanks - it works now
for everyone else with the same "issue" (in English):
1. go to Windows 10 device manager (right click "This PC" > Properties > Device Manager)
2. you'll see "Android Phone" there (on top), and under it - "LG Android Interface"
3. double click "LG Android Interface", select update driver
4. select "Browse my computer for driver software" and on the next page
5. select "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer" and on the next page
6. select "MTP USB Device" > click "next"
7. driver should be updated and installed
now the phone is visible under "Portable devices" in device manager as "LG-D80x" and you can browse its internal storage with Windows Explorer

/e/ ROM got new update for LG G2. seems like that will be the only active rom that i know of for the time being.

How long are you going to add the security patches?
As for everybody else, did someone tried it?
Is everything else exactly the same as with @aleasto build?

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed.
