Reading through the thread, it appears this ROM has issues with battery drain, MTP (mounting to PC), and possibly connecting to GPS satellites. Is this correct?

Also, since TWRP is incompatible with Android 12, how do you all backup your data?

Lastly, I see a "Kernel test fix audio problem in calls" boot.img patch in the original post. Has this been merged or will it ever be merged into LineageOS?
I can confirm battery drain issues. My battery is at 80% health, according to Accubattery.

However, battery barely holds for a full day.
These are my stats for today. It's 5PM and battery charged over night - it's at 30%. And battery stats in the phone tell me nothing.
Anyone has similar issue?

I'd suggest from the feedback of others and my own testing that your situation is not the norm. What firmware are you using?

I'm unable to install latest lineage from TWRP with f2fs and unencrypted. I get into a bootloop on lineage setup screen.
I do according to first post instructions: flash twrp,
Format /system, /data as F2FS and /cache
Install MIUI firmware by sideload: fw_dipper_miui_MI8_V12.5.2.0.QEACNXM_f5ec813d1c_10.0.zip
Install LineageOS zip package by sideload
Install a Google Apps package by sideload (MindtheGapps)
adb pull /vendor/etc/fstab.qcom, edit and add this line:
Code:
/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/userdata /data f2fs noatime,nosuid,nodev,nobarrier,discard,fsync_mode=nobarrier latemount,wait,check,encryptable=ice,quota,formattable
adb push fstab.qcom /vendor/etc/

any hint?

Yea, face unlock is not present in Security section, I guess lineageOS disabled it...

Will it ever come back?

I had the same issue. 100% charge while going to bed, %70 in the morning.

Now this may be a coincidence but i installed smartpack kernel manager from fdroid, set CPU and GPU governers to both userspace with it. And battery drain magically slowed down.

I'm saying maybe coincidence because i dabbled with my router's wifi settings (dtim, beacon interval stuff), that may be affecting phone battery drain.

You might want to give it a try. And please let me know if it works for you as well.

I used the app and settings you suggested and my phone only lost 5% battery overnight so that works great

Currently on 19-20220901-NIGHTLY-dipper with magisk and nikgapps installed OK.

Can anyone get caller ID working on incoming calls? If I turn off 4g calling and WiFi calling it works OK.

Don't know about overnight battery drain, but with general usage - yeah, it improved battery life. Thanks man

    Hello everyone!

Just posting to ask, are there any MAJOR current issues with the Nightly releases of LineageOS for Dipper? I'll be fresh-installing this OS from a very old (2019 lol) version of a now-discontinued OS, Havoc-OS, and just wanted to know if there's any FYI's or things to look out for before procceeding with the installation. Thanks!
Nothing major in my opinion. Go for it

hello there, have a couple questions
1 - will there be an android 13 version of LineageOS?
2 - coming from miui touch response/sensitivity seems strange, am I the only one noticing this? is there any fix?
3 - apart from rom, there is a recovery, do I need to install it? will it replace my twrp? I cant flash via fastboot right now, so if it doesn’t have the option to flash ROMs like twrp, I won’t install it..
and could you share flashable kernel from the latest update please
    Answer for your first question:

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 12, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

Base source code is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to the project, please visit our Gerrit Code Review.

    GPL compliance:

    Device tree source code: https://github.com/LineageOS/android_device_xiaomi_dipper
    Kernel source code: https://github.com/LineageOS/android_kernel_xiaomi_sdm845

    Compatibility:
    Compatible with Xiaomi Mi 8
Builds are based off the Xiaomi's Android 10 firmware.

Recommended firmware is latest MIUI stable firmware.

    Notice:
No custom kernels are supported in this thread. Only stock kernel and official builds will be supported. No bug reports if that's not the case.

    Installation:
Reboot to recovery (TWRP recovery for Mi 8)
    Format /system, /data and /cache
    Install MIUI firmware
    Install LineageOS zip package
Install a Google Apps package of your choice.

    Important notes:
    * Required * firmware version must be based on MIUI *-based builds.
Formatting data (all user data is wiped, including internal storage) is a must if MIUI was previously installed and device was encrypted.

All LineageOS team would like to thank everyone involved in helping with testing, coding, debugging & documenting! Enjoy!

    Dear @infrag

I have a big smile on my face ... because I see that the NFC change was merged a couple of hours ago.

Was this the merge you were waiting for?
Yes. NFC should now work fine in official builds so now can be promoted to 19.1 builds once accepted. I've lodged the request so should hopefully not be too far away.

    Lineage-19.1 builds in OP.

@infrag thanks a ton for spotting the changes.
Please thank @UnluckyPoet also as he did most of the work.
    7
    Dear @infrag,

if it isn't mandatory to have the microphone bug completely fixed I would highly appreciate if you would make LOS 19.1 official as not everybody is affected by it, and not everybody is using the earpiece for phoning, or is using GSM calls anymore.

I am personally very happy with your excellent work!
I'm waiting on my NFC change to be added before making dipper official 19.1.
It requires the maintainer of the common repo to commit the change so I'm waiting on that.
