Yes .txt was removed (I have .rc.old and .rc in vendor/etc/init/hw, I just double checked :))
android auto app is uptodate
could there be some usb settings to put on or off in developer settings ?
Are you on 1.1 or 1.0? And using mind the gapps? USB debugging in developer options is set to off? And was your latest flash a dirty flash or clean flash? Now that you have root, download solid explorer, enable root folder directory and go to vendor/etc/init/hw. Make a screenshot of the folder contents please.

installed solid explorer
checked the .rc file, was rw-rw-r
delete file
copy paste the same file I copied on TWRP
check the file, is now rw-r-r
reboot
plug to the car

and....
dam' you're good :cowboy: AA works now, it was the last not working thing for me compared to stock ROM
thanks a lot, sorry I didn't strictly follow tutorial with root file explorer!

Initial feedback for new build:

lineage-20.0-20230108-UNOFFICIAL-1.1-lilac (Security Patch Jan 5, 23)
twrp-3.7.0_9-0-lilac
MindTheGapps-13.0.0-arm64-20221025_100653.zip
(clean flash from 47.2.A.11.228-R3C)

Seems to run without problems (except 5G wifi??)
  • Camera working (photo and video, default app and OpenCamera tested)
  • Wifi (2.4), Mobile data working (T-Mobile DE prepaid sim), 4G+ connected
  • Smooth, no lags noticed
  • Auto brightness, GPS, flashlight, bluetooth working
Not sure
  • VoLTE and Wifi call are selectable (both not tested if really working)
  • I doubt that 5G wifi ist working, haven't seen it switching in my dual-band setup so far, even on heavy load
Observations:
  • I could not copy zip files via USB/MTP to TWRP, had to use adb push lineage-20....zip /sdcard/.
Hi,
Have just tried to find VoLTE/VoWifi options but didn't find them. Where are they located ?

Hello,

I would like to try the build.
However, when trying to flash the provided TWRP, this happens:

Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
Sending 'recovery' (39360 KB) OKAY [ 1.270s]
Writing 'recovery' FAILED (remote: 'size too large')
fastboot: error: Command failed

I just bought the phone and the previous owner installed LOS 18.

I don't quite understand why the provided recovery wouldn't fit.
Is the size of the recovery partition — if that's the correct term — variable?
If so, how to resize it so that the provided TWRP fits?

Anthony.

Don't know if useful: I had similar problems with with my phone when flashing something. The problems only occurred on USB3 ports. Try a USB 2 port or use an old USB 2 hub.

I have tried: it didn't work either.

New tip: when trying to install the image from within TWRP, the message "Size of image is larger than target device".
So it seems it is a matter of partition size.

@No1Alien is it necessary to use the provided TWRP?

Anyone: any way to resize the space for recovery? any idea on why it could have been changed — because it seems to work on many other phones?

Just figured out how to activate VoLTE if your carrier doesn't officially support you'r device.
Turns out the right modem for my network (Yettel Bulgaria, formerly Telenor Bulgaria) was the Telenor Denmark one. I also made sure that VoLTE was active for me on the operator's side. It still didn't work though, the device showed that it's not registered for VoLTE in the service menu and the 4G Calling options were missing in Sim settings.
Yesterday I found a Magisk module called "VoEnabler" which edits build.prop to add these options. Well that did the trick for me - options are there and service menu shows "registered for VoLTE".

I have updated to 1.1 successfully, Rom runs smooth and stable :)
But unfortunately my Google Play Store isn't working anymore (you are offline).
Flashing the latest MindTheGapps-13.0.0-arm64-20221025_100653 didn't solved this.

Has someone an idea on how to fix this without having to wipe data?

Same problem here, same version 1.1, same MtG, TWRP 3.6.2_12-0. Offline message.
Thus I can't update apps. Android also asks to connect to the a network, but I'm already connected to my Wifi. Can't continue in the dialog windows.
Otherwise, everythings works fine.

Not a fix, but you could work around it by installing Aurora Store. I gets its apps from the Play store, so you should be able to get app updates, though they won't be automatic

Just flashed Lineage OS, so far everything is working fine except 2 problems:
1. For most of the wifi I'm connecting it shows that it's "limited connection", the network itself is working fine despite that so really not a huge problem, but it's just annoying to see it.
2. I'm currently living in China right now and the two SIM cards I have can't be detected by the phone, I was fiddling around with the modem (Which I'm not sure if it does anything) but so far haven't made it work.

I flashed "lineage-20.0-20230108-UNOFFICIAL-1.1-lilac" on SO-02K.
most features is working fine, but have one probrem.
sim card is detected and display carrier name, but not connection.

I tried change apn setting and change modem switcher activity in "xperia parts".
they didn't improve.
Since this OS is mainly applied to G8441, some drivers seem to be different from SO-02K. Is there a solution?

os lineage-20.0-20230108-UNOFFICIAL-1.1-lilac
gapps MindTheGapps-13.0.0-arm64-20221025_100653
magisk v25.2
device SO-02K
carrier docomo(Japanese) data only.

Try to wipe cache of PlayStore and Google Services Framework.
You might also try to change Play Store settings to update via WiFi only and then back through all networks.

Thanks for the suggestions, but it didn't work unfortunately.
Since I upgraded to so many lineage versions after another, I'm considering a full clean install...
Does anyone know a 20.0 opengapps is available?

Hey guys, I have a question about the "IMS features" option in Xperia Parts.
Changing the modem part is clear to me, but is this designed to also enable toggling IMS/Volte/VoWifi options in Sim settings as well?
I struggled to enable Volte until I found a magisk module, which edits build.prop to make the options appear in settings.
Can someone confirm if this is how it works on their phone too?

Found something funny/strange: When using the TWRP from this thread (twrp-3.6.2_12-0-20221002-lilac.img) with a LOS 18.1 installed then the ROM fails after that TWRP is started once.
    I.e.:
    • Boot LOS 18.1 to verify everything works
    • Boot TWRP 3.6.2
    • Power off device (i.e. don't do anything in TWRP at all)
    • Boot LOS 18.1 again
    • E.g. bluetooth service crashes repeatably due to strange SELinux denials on `/data/user_de/0/com.android.bluetooth/databases` and below
Any idea how simply booting TWRP can affect the ROM such that SELinux issues arise which can only be resolved by formatting /data and not booting into TWRP again?
I reproduced this every time with LOS 18.1 and it does not happen with TWRP 3.7.0 (twrp-3.7.0_9-0-lilac.img)

Is that expected as that TWRP seems to be for A12 (LOS 19) and up? Or might this be a bug fixed in TWRP 3.7+?

Concretely, the options that I appreciate on HavocOS are:
    1) the button dedicated to the camera which works correctly
    2) Network traffic in the status bar
    3) To display the seconds in the status bar
Are these options available on LineageOS 20.0?
    Yes

I would be interested in that. Thanks
    No root need

    1) Go to this address (if not valid, I could create a link): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MevyoFMXNl7ggxaGH3cBuoQ8LOmwo17A/view
    2) Get the "system" folder (or download the archive and extract the "system" folder). Noticed: The "priv-app" folder will not be useful, you can delete it
    3) Put the "system" folder on your SD card or internal memory
    4) Boot into TWRP, go to "mount", mount System (uncheck "Mount system partition read-only")
    5) Go to "Advanced", then "File manager", move the folders and files present in the "system" folder that we downloaded ("etc" and "framework" folder, not "priv-app" folder) in "/system_root/system"
    6) Reboot and enjoy, Sony music is valid in play store

LineageOS 20.0 for Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact

    logo.png

    RELEASE

This is an alternative ROM for the Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact, offering several privacy features.

Please report any issues you observe apart from the ones listed below. Logs are needed for me to fix anything (preferably dmesg and logcat). I can't test NFC very thoroughly, to please report your findings.

    FEATURES
    • Signed with dev keys
    • Up-to-date kernel
    • WireGuard kernel support
    DOWNLOAD

    ROM: https://sourceforge.net/projects/yoshino/files/lilac/lineage-20.0/
    TWRP: https://sourceforge.net/projects/yoshino/files/lilac/twrp/
Suggested Gapps (MTG): http://downloads.codefi.re/jdcteam/javelinanddart/gapps (choose 13.0.0/arm64)

Check the ChangeLog below for firmware requirements!

    INSTALLATION

Before first install: flash and boot into the TWRP provided in this thread, format data, reboot to recovery and wipe all internal partitions, then flash the ROM, GApps and root (if needed).

Or if you are coming from Lineage 19.x, dirty flash to 20.0 is possible too: flash the new TWRP, ROM, and GApps, su addons (if needed).

Note: There is not going to be a LOS su addon anymore. If you need root, flash a root manager of your choice. No guaranteed support from LOS for this.

When updating from previous builds, simply dirty flash the ROM is enough, decryption in new TWRP works now ;)

Recommended GApps: MindTheGapps provided in this thread.

    KNOWN ISSUES
    • Stock camera is not working anymore due to incompatibility of stock library (libimageprocessorjni.so) with new libgui
    • You tell me...

Thank you for your nice rom.
    No plans to update yet?
    Best regards.
There is plans, probably next week at some point.

Making unofficial and custom builds of LineageOS for microG based on this ROM is (very high) on my ToDo list.
No promises on ETA though :)

I have finally managed to create Unofficial and Custom builds based on this ROM. AndroidFileHost is still unwell, so the ROMs can be downloaded from Jaguar (links will expire in 180 days (2023-05-27) -
Many thanks to the people here and in the `lineageos4microg/docker-lineage-cicd` repo who have provided invaluable help.

I have successfully dirty flashed the Custom build on my daily driver, and clean flashed both versions on a test device.. They both seem to work OK, and I haven't bumped into any major problems.

Have fun, good luck, and please feel free to provide feedback here, or raise issues in my Codeberg repo .

An outline of the necessary steps in this post in my Codeberg project issue Please feel free to PM me if you would like more information

    REQUIRED FIRMWARE:

    CHANGELOG

    2023-01-08 | 1.1 | 47.2.A.11.228

    - Updated to T QPR1 release (LineageOS upstream)
    - New default camera app (LineageOS upstream) - yes, we cannot change video fps currently (thanks Sony!)
    - Any other updates by LineageOS upstream
    - Kernel security updates (also thanks to Flamefire)
    - Dropped keyprovd service - it is useless on unlocked BL anyway
    - Show 4G instead of LTE icon - saves some space too
    - Enable IMS by default - this still only works if carrier is supported
    - Fix some selinux denials (also thanks to Flamefire)
    - Fixup ViLTE dependencies - this might in theory work again, but it's not enabled yet

@derf elot did it again. He checked over some of my logs and provided a fix for android auto on our device. Audio playback over USB C works too. The fix will be implemented in the next release.

Don't forget to donate to the legend himself.

Anyway, if you don't wanna wait AND have ROOT access, follow below steps. It works for me (1.1, not sure if it'll work on 1.0)
    1. Download a root file explorer (like solid explorer), doing this through twrp causes permission issues.
    2. Download attached file
    3. Rename the downloaded file to init.yoshino.usb.rc
    4. Rename /vendor/etc/init/hw/init.yoshino.usb.rc to init.yoshino.usb.rc.old
    5. Move the renamed file from step 2 to /vendor/etc/init/hw/
    6. Reboot
    7. Enjoy AA

    Issues?
    a. Booting system, but having issues after changes? Undo above steps.
    b. Not booting system after changes? Boot into twrp, mount system & vendor, undo above steps.

Again, don't forget to donate. @derf elot deserves all the credit for this.
