GPS always switching to battery saving mode

My device is running in "balanced" energy mode. When I need GPS location for tracking, most of the time I have to go to GPS settings to enable GPS high accuracy mode, because GPS battery saving is turned on automatically.
Does anybody know how I can lock my GPS to always using "high accuracy" ? Why is this setting non-permanent?

Does anyone else have this too?
I currently can't say anything about it because I only use the high accuracy mode if I need it for navigation.
I will test it myself if I'm back on cm13

I noticed the same thing on my S4 Mini running std CM13 in the last few weeks, probably since they switched to the new branch, but not certain as I don't use it that often, still the same on the 0803 nightly I'm currently running. It has always defaulted to high accuracy before which is what I always use, but now it's always on battery saver when I go to use it & I need to change it to high accuracy. I have always run phone in Balanced power mode. @Snoere

help me, if you could

Dear bauner,

Firstly, thank u so much for ur effort and devotion towards the N7000 development. Ur work has revived my old sluggish N7000 and now snappy and feels like a brand new phone.

However, there was one thing that I couldn't figure out.. the GPS. It has not worked since the day I flashed the new rom. I tried to clean format, wiped all the cache and dalvik, installed the CM13 but GPS wasn't working. Reformatted then tried CM12, same thing. Then I start from scratch and decided to stay with CM13 despite having no GPS.

Then, I read the 'Speed Up Satellite Fix for GPS' thread and gave it a try. Unfortunately, the GPS still doesn't work. I almost gave up, but last night I googled and read this particular thread.. it was regarding a few files from the /data/gps folder that needed to be deleted. So, I deleted all the files in that folder. Rebooted, run the GPS Status and Toolbox app, selected the 'manage A-GPS > reset' followed by 'manage A-GPS > download', and guess what..... MY GPS FINALLY WORKED!!!!! Immediately, it tracked a few satellites and fixed within a few seconds!

Just wanted to share incase anyone had similar situation after flashing. Hope it helps. :)
Man, I made all the steps, but my GPS doesn't fix (I guess) because when i try to play pokemon go when I walk, my profile still stopped. What can I do?

Someone posted earlier that it also can be a problem in pokemon go if I remember correctly.
You also can try to check your gps with an gps test app from the playstore.

That was me I guess. I set up GPS perfectly and it works in any other app as expected. I can use navigation and stuff, but am unable to run pokemon go. By now I'm like whatever :3

A update with the september security patches will come mid or end next week if there should be no problems.

But you can also flash the current version and then update to the next version when it is finish

I have random crashes of my cellular connection (which require to boot), and with them I loose e.g. my XDA app login. I will do a clean install next week. But I wanted to ask: Is anyone else experiencing such crashes? Anything I should check or make sure prior to or while flashing clean?

are you expecting to solve the issue with the adoptable storage not available?

I did not had such problems earlier. But I tested the current version only a few days and then I worked on cm12.1 and cm14.
