I get the com.android.phone has stopped/keeps stopping Toasts as well.
Did a clean install for Alpha 1.
Than I've managed to get through the initial setup and disabled phone in settings (RIL isn't working anyway, yet).
Did this by loads of double tapping, first tap dismisses Toast, second tap is for real entry.
Did an adb reboot recovery
Than flashed Pico gapps, after booting one Toast for Settings has stopped, but frome there on it went a lot better.
Could enable phone as well without renewing the Toasts

Very impressed at this stage, very snappy response. Music doing fine. File manager some timeouts and error with HTML-viewer
GPS a bit slow in getting a fix, might be the conf file needs some work on my side

Great work @bauner. Since it is Oktoberfest, I'll buy you a new beer, the last one should be stale by now...

i tried to use the rom and had a lot of 'com.android.phone has stopped' as well. i basically skipped the setup and waited for the device to lock, then accessed the settings menu from the bar and got no more fcs (?!?). i wasnt sure about a working ril and was interested in playing around, but after a few minutes i got bored since the things i use most (ril + interwebthingees) didnt work. i'm back to 6.0.1 for a few days or weeks and will read here as well.
great job bauner.

Thank you for donating again!
Because of this problem the alpha1 took longer as I thought.
On my device I can't reproduce this problem with the alpha 1.

In my earlier tests I did it the same way.

@bauner, Where's OTA Updater app (on Alpha1)?
Currently not present, because it is possible that an update will cause problems in this early stage.
Did you also had the com.android.phone has stopped problem?

Hi

I've got the "com.android.phone has stopped" error too
I did a factory reset, formatted /system, installed rom and micro gapps, and I have the problem right after reboot

Then you can try to make a factory reset + format /system again.
Then follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68863541&postcount=70

If you are clicking fast enough you can go to the first start wizard.
After this if you can see the homescreen you can reboot and try if it will work now.

If yes then you can install the gapps

Can anyone with the com.android.phone has stopped problem please try if flashing this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=20604
in the recovery will fix it

please tell me if it will work!
Did two tests.

First test; Clean install Alpha, reboot to check stopped phone, didn't finish setup, reboot flashed fix, cleaned dalvik/art/cache. On reboot got a Toast for Settings has stooped, restart app. From there on setup works fine.

Second test; Clean install Alpha and fix in one zip queue, No Toast, direct setup works fine.

Cheers.:good:

You're welcome. Reverted back to M for now. I need my MTV eehhm... RIL. Got N in a NanDroid, So I will keep looking at it every now and then. Will probably switch definively on first Beta.
Keep up the good work.
