The LineageOS 14.1 Beta 4 is finish

Changes:

* Merged lineage changes
* February security patches
* Colors in whatsapp video calls fixed
* Some cleanups
* Some updates from the smdk4412 kernel
* Possible ix for Sound cuts off at low volume playback
* Charger sounds are working
* Lineage removed the cm filemanager (you can use the download app for basic file operations or install a third party filemanager)

thanks for all the hard work and dedication you have put on this device, @bauner. By i was thinking how could i revert to my stock rom if i wish so? (though i think i would never encounter such situation but just in case)

and for some reason the videos in default browser also does not play when u click on the play button something weird happens (u can still use other functions and close the tab and you can also pause the video [though it does not play] the video timer is also working)

To go back to a stock rom you need to boot into recovery and do a factory reset.
Then boot directly (do not boot the rom again) in the download mode and flash a stock rom with odin.

I know about the video problem in the stock browser and in chrome.
There is a problem with newer webview versions on our device.
As workaround you could use firefox for watching videos

I had the video problem earlier but currently it seems to work for me.
Do you have a link from a video which will cause problems for you?

EDIT: For curious reason, the problem has gone, after 10 minutes standby?
In Beta 4 the home screen has stopped working, with Trebuchet and also with another launcher I tried. There is only a blank screen or sometimes my background image when I press the home button.

But now the phone doesnt doze as much as before. I can see how much it does because greenify has a setting that gives you a notification showing how long the phone dozed. I have 48MB+ worth of logcat starting from Feb 25 till March 1. I can send it if you want.

Now i have another issue, the protable storage as seen in the phone settings has a red triangle with exclamation mark on it. I tried fixing partition in TWRP Isorec recovery and proceeds saying it is now 'fixed'. The recovery used fsck.fat/vfat/exfat. I can access it okay though. mount and df looks okay.

Seeing as the portable storage or /storage/sdcard0 is formatted as fat, can we change it to ext4 or anything linux?

You could try to backup your data and then format it in the recovery.
I have only fat tested. Other filesystems should also work but it is possible that you can get permission problems

Hi, I'm having a lot of issues with flashing that file that repartitions everything. First off yes I do have TWRP Recovery installed, yes I have tried to install it via tmp folder and I still get mount errors when trying to install, what am I doing wrong? Thanks.

what is the exact error message?
Please post the recovery log after you got the error (Advanced-Copy Log)

After testing the current build for a day all seems to work fine. Since now I have no problems (reboots, access sdcards, ...). Clean install without any Google packages.

Most of the videos in browser are playing fine (YouTube). On some websites there are problems (vimeo, clipfish). Since most websites are using html5 videos, is it possible that the others still use flash or an other kind of unsupported (by aosp webview) player format?

Edit: It is not possible to deny location permission to gallery app, without getting the permissions dialog every time. But I think that's LineageOS bug.

if you go to Advanced-Copy Log in the recovery you should find the log on one off your sdcards as recovery.log

it seems like Stk (Sim Toolkit) is not working. I am getting the menu, but none of entries preform any action (the disk is spinning forever)
however, it seems to be true for Nightowl as well...

Is it not working only for me?

It will also not work if you restore it again and if you not fix root?

Did you repartition your device?
If yes did you modify the preload partition? In this case you need to repartition again (because a stock rom needs the preload partition).

If nothing will help you can do a factory reset in the recovery. Then boot directly in the download mode and flash a stock rom with odin

You are right it is not working correctly.
It works for me only 1 time after a reboot

Did you try to install it a second time from the /tmp folder and not from the sdcard?
It seems that you run it from the sdcard because it says that it can't unmount the sdcard.

Do you have a external sdcard in your device?
Do you use the latest twrp recovery from the first post?

then you could try to copy the repit zip file to the internal sdcard.
Then remove the external and try to install it from the internal sdcard and then again from /tmp

Thanks @bauner for this awesome ROM and wonderful contributions and support. I installed it on a relative's phone, after she came back from a vacation, i haven't a heard a single complain about the phone :good:
