Even with Nexus 5X there are problems with CM14 - RIL. Have patience, do not ask ETA

Problems Installing Alpha ZIP File
When Installing the alpha my Note seems to be stuck at installing the ZIP File. It only shows this and doesn't go any further. I already checked the MD5 with the downloaded zip and it matched. Anyone else also had this problem? Also tried downloading the Zip a few more times all with the same result
EDIT: Well as always patience is the key ^^ Only had to wait a bit longer for it to install ^^

My post wasn't about ETA. I'm testing N but using M. My N7000 is still my daily driver. So therefore RIL is necessary. @bauner is working very hard, maintaining 2 ROM's and developing the third. We regulars are very happy with his work, donating and enjoying. Patience is our middle name...., or it should be.

My post wasn't about ETA. I'm testing N but using M. My N7000 is still my daily driver. So therefore RIL is necessary. @bauner is working very hard, maintaining 2 ROM's and developing the third. We regulars are very happy with his work, donating and enjoying. Patience is our middle name...., or it should be.

The installation will take longer in alpha1 because I use the old file based installing which makes it possible to replace/edit files inside the zip for testing reasons.When Installing the alpha my Note seems to be stuck at installing the ZIP File. SDCard access Bug
I'm not sure if this bug is known yet but it's impossible to access the SDCard/Internal Storage with the CM Filemanager even in rooted mode (ES File Explorer worked as well as root browser) and many applications like Poweramp or MXPlayer are also unable to access the Internal Storage. I didn't test if it works with an external SDCard yet. I attached a logcat I did while trying to access the SDCard with the CM File browser and hope it maybe helps.
I really appreciate your work Bauner and can't wait for your next alpha build
I'm not asking for an eta before anyone claims I do.
EDIT: I just noticed that Bluetooth is also broken for me. Idk if it is also broken for someone else

Can confirm that access to sdcard0 is not working in File Manager. Mini Toast Message "asking" for elevated permissions even in Root Access Mode. sdcard1 does not have these problems.
Trying to access via /mnt or /storage isn't working either for sdcard0, so the error is persistent. Permissions for App are set to storage.
As mentioned before Music is working fine for me, but I store all my music on sdcard1.

If you enable root for apps and abd in the developer settings and then enable root in the file manager I think it should work.
I currently can't say more about it because I bricked my device today by an mistake...

Nope, sorry. Root was enabled for apps and adb in Settings and root access in File Manager. But still NoGo.
Hope you suceed in debricking your device. Loads of us are depending on your work (and device)...

just installed Alpha 1, with micro gApps, and installed the fix
installed STRAVA APP and tested GPS to be working fine! Good Job @bauner, wifi working and i was able to upload my ride

Yes it was also working fine in my tests.just installed Alpha 1, with micro gApps, and installed the fix

Only the first fix needed some minutes. I think because of the not working agps with the broken ril
I have sent it to a jtag service today. It will take a few days till I get it back.
Today, I tested YouTube and ChromeCast. Combo is working fine (as before in NightOwl), direct cast via RightPullDownMenu does not work (as before). Tested stock camera as well, no problems with photo's (used manual focus) did not test video as OP states it's broken ( for now). Bluetooth not working yet as mentioned by @Darthsternie. Overall experience still good. Well done @bauner :Good

I will test bluetooth when I have my device back.
What exactly will not work with bluetooth?
In the preview rom I could turn it on and it found other devices.
But I did not more tests and I also did not test it in alpha1
When I turn BT on the switch/slider/toggle moves but nothing happens. When I leave the settings screen it is switched off again. I've tried waiting a couple of mins but still NoGo.
