Hi everyone, did anyone encountered this issue; "Google" can't be updated (Error: 491).
I have tried cleaning app's and playstore app's cache and data but still cannot update.
Can someone help, please? Thank you.

Hello everybody. I use cm14 nightowl, my phone is partitioned 8gb for /data and ~5gb for sdcard0. How can I better install the new cm15 version?

If you want to use gapps you need to repartition again because the current rom and gapps will not fit togeteher on the /system partition.

You can follow
If you are running a custom Kitkat(4.4) or newer Rom:
in the first post to install the 15.1 rom.
If you want to keep your 8gb /data you can rename the repit file from:
lanchon-repit-20170115-system=1536M+keep-data=6G+keep-sdcard=max+keep-preload=same+keep-n7000.zip
to
lanchon-repit-20170115-system=1536M+keep-data=8G+keep-sdcard=max+keep-preload=same+keep-n7000.zip

You also should wait a few minutes before you start because I'm currently uploading the beta 2 which should fix the softreboot problem in beta 1

In the "How to repartition your device:" it is written "Make sure that you have at least 5GB free space on your internal sdcard0 before you start!" My sdcard is total 5GB, now is 3,7GB free, is it ok? Thanks
~5GB is the needed free space if you have a device which was not repartitioned earlier.

confirm that, I tried to re-partition with too much stuff in the memory, it errored, then I deleted some older imagefiles to make space and then it worked.

NightOwl LineageOS14.1

Thank you so much @bauner for you incredible work and well detailed posts.

I have NightOwl LineageOS14.1, so I presume I need to follow the install instructions for custom Kitkat(4.4) or newer.
I already have TWRP 3.1.0-0 build2 recovery (IsoRec), and had previously re-partitioned using @Lanchon repit as follows:
system=1G (366M free)
data=4G (2.3G free)
sdcard=max (9.4G)
preload=min (8M shrunk from 0.5G)
I'm quite happy with this configuration. I'm using pico GApps and installed all the apps I need, and still have more than half empty data partition, and would like to keep the same if possible.

I have 3 questions:
1. Do I still need to increase my system partition to 1536M even if using pico GApps with this ROM?
2. The provided repit file keeps the preload partition, so is it required for this ROM? Do I need to restore it 0.5G?
3. The install instructions state to flash TWRP recovery after flashing the ROM. I already have TWRP, do I still need to do this?

1 GB is enough for me. I don't think preload is needed, I set mine to minimum. You don't have to flash TWRP again.

1. 1GB /system partition should be ok to fit pico or nano gapps
2. The rom does not need the preload partition. I did not modify it to make it easier to go back to a stock rom
3. no you don't need to flash twrp again. this step is only needed if you use philz or cwm recovery

Thanks bauner, everything worked out wonderfully! I can not install some apps from googleplay (google chrome dev or facebook) because of 491 error. Google-Akkount canceling and deleting cache from googleplay has not helped.(

I also get such errors after each reboot:
1. Trust - System security
this build was signed with public keys
2. Trust - System security
SELinux is not enforcing, your security has been weakened

Can't download app
"Facebook" can't be downloaded. Try again, and if the problem continues, get help troubleshooting. (Error code: 491)
how to fix this error ?
thanks bauner
I currently don't know why you will get the paystore error.

The security messages are from the new lineage trust app. They are normal in the current rom

Its it possible to repartition without using ODIN? I won't have access to a Windows PC for a long time now. Current partition is just the stock one (unchanged from 2011)

I regard your work highly and I follow your instructions to the tee
You should read the 1. post, how to section

Installing the repit zip from the sdcard will fail the first time (because the sdcard is in use and can't unmounted) but the file gets copied to /tmp in this step.
After this select the repit zip to install from /tmp again and it should work

Alright, so when in twrp I went to 'install' and then 'storage 0' (internal) to find tmp. There's no flashable file in tmp, where have I made an error, could you help me?

sorry Bauner
1st step. Reboot to recovery
2nd. Go to install and find the pit file to install
3rd. It will fail. The pit file is now moved to /tmp
4th. Go to install again but go to /tmp now. The zip file should be there.

If you can't locate the /tmp (its not located in your sd and external sd) just press (up a level) until you can't go any further. You'll see the folder /tmp alongside /sys , /cache etc.

Thank you, however it failed there with many many many many errors (143 I think).

Near the end it has a few "/dev/block/mmcblk0p12" lines saying it "couldn't find tzdata when looking for posixrules!", "couldn't find any tzdata when looking for GMT0BST ,M3 .5 .0 ,M10 .5 .0 !", "UNEXPECTED INCONSISTENCY ; RUN fsck MANUALLY . (i.e. , without -a or -p options).

And "FATAL: file system errors in partition#12 'preload' (HIDDEN) could not be automatically fixed (try running 'e2fsck -f /dev/block/mmcblk0p12').

I've checked the lanchon repit and it's MD5 works out. I'll try again
