Sorry for my noob question, but what is the reason for removing Gapps preinstalled ? It seems a whole lot simpler to me than having to find a working external gapps package..

Not everyone wants to use gapps on their phone, this way everyone can choose the gapps package of their liking.

Hi, i got a problem with Google contacts, it asks me to login with my google account but I'm already logged, all other google apps works well. Im using Flamegapps full without setup wizard because its the only one that suit my needs besides nikkgapss that end up with error "not enough space".

I have the same issue..

same, since the removal of gapps shipped with rom, ive had nothing but issue after issue after issue with this rom, while beforehand it was hands down one of the best roms for LMI, at this state its unusable as a daily driver for anyone that relies on google services, and ive unfortunatley had resorted to other roms. i suggest you do the same, the dev, while doing great work for the device, is rather unclear with how to get this working with Google services in the same shape it was before the 22nd feb build

Go to DerpQuest in settings - themes - Icon pack

Awesome! Thank you. I have just one more question - is it possible to change the color of the clock on the lock screen. I know that is not the accent color, since my color I've selected is green - not red

For me its changing according to the color of lock screen wallpaper
I do not know why its red for you but I did not find any option to change that.
try to change the wallpaper and see if the color changes.

I haven't tried with flamegapps full, but I am currently with flamegapps basic (setup removed and magisked).
So far no issue with google contacts at all and overall rom is a lot smoother with much better battery than previous version.

Maybe you could try clean flash with flamegapps basic?

I moved from CrDroid to DerpFest in February and battery life on Derp had generally great back then. I flashed every new build when it came out. Then around april, I noticed a high standby battery drain similar to the one I described here. So I decided to clean flash that april build and I tested it for a few days, and after this the standby drain was good again. Then I didn't update my rom for 2 months which went suprisingly well. Battery life had been amazing for like 8-9 weeks and then it started going downhill again with the high standby drain which is why I posted it later in the thread. It's quite surprising because I was still using the same rom build and the same app setup. Then I flashed the 28-06 build to see if it would fix it but it did not. I could of course have clean flashed the rom, but I'm not sure if that would fix it. The increased standby battery drain already occurred when I didn't update my rom for two months, which implies dirty flashing was not the issue since I didn't dirty-flash a single build after that clean flash in april.

Now I still don't know why the standby drain suddenly occured again and I'm not sure if it's even related to the wakelocks because I've also had good battery life with the same wakelocks. I did notice that at the CrDroid rom thread people recommended to not use Pocket Detection because it would increase the standby drain quite significantly, I wouldn't be surprised if this rom has the same problem but I can't say for sure. I was also using Pocket Detection when my battery life was great so I'm not sure if it's that either.

However according to BetterBatteryStats, the CPU was running at 1.71 GHz for quite a long time. Why? I don't know. You'd expect the phone to be in deep sleep most of the time but my phone is running at 1.71 GHz 50% of the time and just 50% deep sleep when in standby. That could explain the issue but I don't know why the CPU would run at such a high frequency when the screen is off. On CrDroid I seem to have a similar issue so I don't know if the rom is the issue, it sounds more like the kernel is the problem.
    Hello everybody
Just a random observation, that may or may not be related to that high battery drain...

I'm running an app called cooltool on the Poco to be able to monitor CPU Usage, Net, I/O-Activity and such on the fly.
After clean-flashing first MIUI to get the correct firmware and then the ROM and Magisk I noticed that, after starting the Phone and giving it some time to settle, the CPU Usage basically drops to 0 - 1%.
But then -and even when leaving it just sitting on the desk doing nothing- after something like 15 - 30 minutes or even longer, suddenly CPU usage goes up to around 5 - 7% and stays there apparently forever (or till reboot - see below).
I tried to hunt down the App that was causing this but couldn't identify any...
(Not a big surprise since the phone basically had just Derp itself and some small system tools on it but none ot the "real apps" i use regularly on my daily driver. I'm still in the process of switching to the Poco you see... :) )

    The funny part is:
I was also playing around with some kernel-settings via Smartpack Kerned Editor. Smartpack has a topic called "Entropy" in the left side-menu and when I increased "write" to the max of 4096 (which helped my old phones snappiness a huge lot) the CPU increase on the Poco happened way earlier than before, like 2 - 3 minutes after start and login instead of 15+. So that made my quite curious... :)

Hence I DEcreased write to 512 with the effect that Smartpack never reported "100% Available" any more as it was doing before
--> AND the CPU usage seems to stay at the initial low 0 - 1% now !!

    Sidenote:
I'm not sure about the following, but I also got some strange reboots with the high entropy setting. Strange because they happened when the phone was just sitting idle on the desk - and out of the blue I suddenly see the Yellow Poco screen appear and the thing reboots... Without any obvious reason and even withouot touching it at all.
Actually I got such reboots even before I started fiddling with kernel settings. The difference was, without fiddling reboots happened after 24+ hours whereas with fiddlling substantially earlier.

So my "wild guess into the blue" at the moment is, that when "Entropy availability" gets to 100% something goes wrong and in the end causes the Poco to restart.
--> Interestingly since I decreased Entropy to 512 I haven't had a single of those reboots any more.

Please keep in mind, that all this may have just been a totally weird coincidence, too and I may be on the completely wrong track here...
But as it is quite easy to change that setting (Smartpack is free on the PlayStore) it may be worth a try to decrease entropy on your devices and see if it changes anything at all...

    Good luck !!

P.S: A huge thanks to Schnedi for sharing and maintaining this great ROM. I especially love the fact that it comes with all customization options you could possibly ask for - but with just the most basic set of Apps, so you can decide for yourelf which browser, calendar etc you'd like to use and don't duplicate a bunch of AOSP-Default Apps. Really great work and the 27.06. build seems very stably on my device now that I've decreased entropy a bit more than default of around 800.
Thank you very much, I hope you keep this alive for a long time.
    Cheers :D

I don't know if it's just me but the standby battery drain is quite bad on this rom. I flashed the latest version today but it has been an issue before that. It appears that there are a lot of wakelocks caused by the android system, more specifically by "wificonnectivitymanager" and "job.deadline" as shown in the first screenshot. I have WiFi scanning disabled so I am not sure why there are so many of those wakelocks in the first place. I didn't use my phone at all for 5 hours and the battery still dropped 10% which is quite bad, it's like the system is not entering doze mode or something like that.

The second screenshot shows my battery on an 8 day window and it shows just how bad the android system battery drain really is, however the percentages are a little weird probably because those stats don't reset if I don't charge to 100%. The android system is consuming more energy than everything else, even the screen so there is clearly some kind of bug causing this.

I have had exactly the same issue before, with this rom a few months back. Then I was able to temporarily solve the problem by clean flashing the rom. However the bug came back for some reason even though I did not update my rom, purely to avoid the bug. Does anyone have any clue what could be causing this? In the meantime I think I'm going to try a different rom to see if I get the same issue.

EDIT: I've tried crdroid and it has the same battery drain issue for me, RIP... Even exactly the same wakelocks. So either this is an issue with both roms or it is an issue on my side. The former would be unlikely but I don't know how it could be an issue on my side either, since it doesn't appear to be an app causing this.

    Just flash new kernel https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/kernel-oss-aosp-11-nexus-kernel-v5-29-06-21.4286239/

Just install it on my Poco F2 Pro, great rom very fast and smooth, thanks to the developers.

Just one thing is there a way to hide the navigation bar pill? I couldn't find it in the settings.
look for gesture bar length and set to hidden

    | BUG REPORTING |
    • DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
    • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
    • If it is a random reboot, grab dmesg . (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
    • If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
    • Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.
