Hello Synman,

I've been observing your work at GSM calling thread and this rom.

2 questions:
1- based of..?
It is highly recommended that you start with a full wipe from a known good installation of the N73G stock binaries. *
  • ...
  • GwT KRT16O requires a base install of
:D

(edited)2- managed to install the rom by flashing over another 4.4 rom with prior full wipe. the problem remains is root access. Seems cannot get it.

Good job on your effort on trying to work out gsm calling and of course this rom!

Damm, i'm away from home right now and have to wait for the weekend to flash and play.
Thanks for the new rom. I'm going to install it, as soon as i can.

Official Google nexus 7 image KRT16O ... I'll fix the typo but it is stated in numerous other spots, including what you quoted. :)

Root is gained by executing the SuperSU update referenced in the OP.

Is there any fix?

I just ran through a fresh install on a 2012 N7 3G over KRT16O and installed the pa gapps linked in the OP. It's working for the most part but I've noticed two issues:

The first one is that every time the tablet boots I'm greeted on the home screen by the error "Unfortunately, Google Play Services has stopped."
This only happens once on each bootup and the service seems to recover just fine on its own.

The second one throws a wrench into the SIP functionality and I haven't found a way around it yet. The button to add a SIP account is just plain missing from the SIP accounts dialog. I've tried a few SIP apps to see if any of them can add native accounts but it doesn't seem that any of them do. I've also tried to find a way to revert to a JB dialer to see if that would be capable of adding accounts but haven't been successful in doing so.

I notice that the dialer I have does not look like the screenshots in the OP (it's the stock 4.4 dialer and uses popup instead of fullscreen dialogs, for one), but I'm not sure why that is. I thought it may be a dialer without some necessary changes or fixes that the gapps package installed but that zip doesn't include anything to do with the dialer.

Update: I just tried setting the LCD.Density to 320 in build.prop to mimic a Nexus 4 screen and sure enough the dialogs became full-screen and included the previously missing buttons. You can add an account that way and then switch back to 213 DPI.

I'm working on a LRX22G version of GwT. Only outstanding item at this point is figuring out how to get a good GAPPS install as I can't get any of the Lollipop ones out there to successfully install.... pretty sure I have a missing dependency of some kind... just haven't figured it out yet.
