Hi, Dev, i've found an issue: when i'm in tablet UI-mode i want to start Google Now by swiping Home button up, but when i'm doing that tablet is freezing and i must to lock and unlock it to keep using, and Google Now is not appear. Hope this will be fixed, thanks for the best ROM and sorry for my mistakes)

Just played with this a little... It's a novel bug. If you drag your finger to the center of the navigation bar after pressing the home key you can get now to launch. This is with the standard launcher. I'll see if it's any different with nova now.

Same behavior with nova... I'll have to figure out how now wires itself into the home key.

In the spirit of full disclosure tablet ui also has issues with DPI specific apps as it fakes out the DPI value.

I think this is also the case with stock, I'm not sure whether it's really a bug or just normal behaviour

Hi DEV.

Thank you for your ROM.

Install today and running with trinity kernel.

But i miss the speed (compare to my N4 and 4.2 stock rom).

Can i point you for something simple and amazing ? This N4 rom, is pure, like stock but we have incredible speed.

I don´t know if you want to take a look and if its possible to take any advantage about the good things.

Here the ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2392624

Thank you for your time and work !

You're comparing a last gen N7 with a N4? ROMs can't magically supplant hardware.

no !

i just point for one very fast rom on N4 (has a version to grouper too but in the same thread).

my text wasn´t clear (sorry).

better now:

compare with previous N7 stock rom 4.2 and point to N4 rom that has a version for the grouper.

sorry for wrong words.:good:

Dev,

im not complaining about your ROM, i speak about all 4.3 roms for tilapia.

your rom is very good and clean. thank you for this.

You have to understand, that same rom on different hardware doesn't automagically make it as fast as it runs on the N4. Hardware is more important than custom rom - not to diminish the efforts of the chefs here.

A bloated rom can run liquid smooth on overpowered hardware, but an ultra optimized rom will still run like molasses on weak hardware.

The most you can do is compared roms on the SAME devices. Grouper and Tilapia are similar. Mako is decidedly not. Mako is more similar to the current N7 2013.

Chef is a very appropriate term here. I have provided no optimizations at a native or java framework level.

If I did I would request an "original Dev" forum be created to house my work.

I've merely reconfigured the AOSP branch for tilapia to implement a handful of features Google never intended to be available to the masses, incorporated a couple extensions not part of AOSP at all pioneered by others before me, and added a couple of my own... The majority of which is far from original.

My single biggest contribution is likely the one no one cares about, audible SMS playback on message receipt.

Thanks for a nicely compiled rom! Just the features I was looking for. And by the way; the link to Gapps seems dead. I used the new link that was posted under Craigs Flaming Monkey thread. Filename is GoogleAppsPack-4.3-JWR66Y-20130902.zip.

Thanks again!

I'm updating the OP now... thanks for the callout. I also just placed my order for a 2013 N7LTE and will very likely be offering GwT for it once I'm situated.

I think I'm going to wait for the official release of the source. I was able to get the N5 branch running fine with the new N7 but rather than have to do 4 builds, if I hold off a week or two I can keep it to 3.

Our official release is right around the corner.
Just wanted to tell you this has been my DD since day 1. Suffered a broken screen for a while but she's back up and running! Looking forward to 4.4 update man! Kinda disheartened to see this was only rates 3 stars considering this is the single most functional ROM for the 3g. I up voted it and got us back up to 4 stars at least! Thanks for all you do man!!

I saw someone else in the thread had an issue of a voicemail notification popping up, any thoughts on how to permanently get rid of it? I can clear data and cache in the phone service and temporarily lose it but it keeps popping up.

This applied to many other apps as well....

-->> If you know the app's name...navigate to the "manage apps" settings...select the app, then look up right under the "force close" button.... there will be a tick "box" to disable notification ;)
