I'm running a black theme on 6 right now. I don't know how well developed the theming is yet.
I was just running Lollipop a bit ago and it might be the same theme engine.

On one of the two tablets, I am experiencing random reboots that appear to be related to the store. I have wiped dalvik and cache, I have deleted data on the Play store, but it seems while Play is doing its updates, it just randomly reboots...

I'm on the latest, but it did this on v24 as well.

This all started with a constant reboot to the Asus logo that couldn't be escaped, aside from going into recovery (the reason I am in possession of this tablet again). I reinstalled KatKiss and GApps to fix this. I wiped cache, dalvik, and play store, then this happened...

Penny for your thoughts?

Edit: Maybe it isn't related to the Play Store after all... It did get through an update without rebooting.

Edit 2: So I reopen Play Store to look at it - swipe away my notifications in the notification bar - bam! Lockup and reboot. It feels like they get to 74%, then the whole thing reboots. I sooo do not want to start over from scratch with this thing... Going to grasp at straws and try a permission fix...

Hello congratulations for this wonderful Rom...
the best I have tried having this tablet from 2012 ... I have tried many.
A curiosity:
When I connect to my speakers via 2.1 jack, the audio is played wonderfully well
but it also comes from the coffers of the TF300T ... normal?
Thank you and keep always the case!

Thanks for this amazing rom. My tablet feels like new. I have one question. I have now not formatted in f2fs format. If I format in f2fs, will my tablet be even faster?

Thanks for the quick replies. You said format change data with lollipop but do you mean in recovery or is there a lollipop option in the phone settings to change data to f2fs

It's to be done in recovery.
I mentionned lollipop in regards to the /data only as f2fs supported,
if you format other partitions as f2fs with KatKiss Lollipop it will not boot
whereas I've added support in KatKiss Marshmallow to make it boot if you format /cache as f2fs for example.

Hi. Between this and the new rom 6.0.1 . Which you consider to be the most stable , with fewer errors and more fluid. For this be what is the best version or all are stable ?
Thank you!

Hi,

Firstly i must confess, I'm a long time Leacher of your ROM @timduru, please don't hold that against me :D . They are brilliant!!!!
Secondly any tips on hiding root in your ROMs, I have one app that just won't play the game. Presto entertainment. I have tried all the usual hide tools to no avail.

Your help would be greatly appreciated an I promise I will contribute in future

Need SD (dock) help

I took the plunge this week and upgraded my TF300T to the latest version of Lollipop using the information in this thread (and others) as a guide. It went fine.

However, I need help figuring out how to access the contents of an SD card in the dock slot.

From the Settings->Storage page, I see the section for the "Dock SD Card", with two options, "mount" and "erase". If i remove the card, I get some light gray text that says, "Insert an SD card for mounting", and when I insert the card that text goes away.

Pressing the "Mount SD Card" text results in a quick flash of icon in the upper left corner of the screen, but otherwise, nothing happens.

Any ideas how I can browse/access the contents of the card? It's the card I've used in my camera, and it's the card I used to copy the files onto the device using TRWP, so I know it's fine.

As mentioned in the post above, I'm new to Lollipop. I'm having trouble getting my USB to Ethernet dongle to work. It worked just fine under JellyBean, but no joy with Lollipop.

I can tell the USB port on the dock works, because it's fine with a Thumb drive in it, I can access files, etc...

But plugging in the USB->Ethernet dongle does nothing. Plugging an ethernet cable into the dongle also results in no action from the tablet.

It's an Apple device that I picked up from Best Buy a while ago. It's served me well.
Looks like this: amazon.com/dp/B0012P26ZO

Any ideas?

Could be a recent app you installed. try restarting the tablet and using cpuspy to make sure it is going into deep sleep.

I bought one of these: amazon.com/gp/product/B005UFO1FA
I found that it works. And then I further found that the Apple dongle works as well.

The problem:
- The OS doesn't indicate it's connected
- The OS doesn't provide any way to configure it

I need to be able to define whether the connection is DHCP or Static, and if Static, be able to define the IP address, Subnet, Gateway, and DNS information.

Any ideas?

    Lollipop 5.1.1 Release 24
    Asus TF300T

Please note that this version is made for and tested on the TF300T model.

After a few years of success on the TF101, KatKiss is now available for the TF300T :)

This rom is an aosp based rom with my own additions on top of it.

The main motto of the rom being Kiss. Even though the Meerkat could give you a kiss, it stands for Keeps it Sweet and Simple too
Which means that just like the other K.A.T stuff, the rom's main goal is efficiency, speed/responsiveness,
while not adding bloated features that will slow things down :)

    Tips

    First Install
Make sure you do a full wipe the first time you install the rom
If you get error code 9XX when installing an app in the PlayStore, make sure that you format /data
    (wipe doesn't format)

The first boot after a rom flash is slower than with 4.4.4 and can take a few minutes as ART is slower than dalvik to optimize the applications, but is faster after the 1st time.
(First boot takes ~2-3 minutes without gapps and 5+ minutes with gapps)
Also keep in mind that after a fresh install, it might take a bit of time to get up to full speed as media scanner & google are checking/scanning and restoring stuff.

    Hardware keyboard layouts
More languages have been added in the default asusec keyboard
Set the keyboard layout through Settings => Language & Input => asusec => setup keyboard layouts
These also allow live switching without reboot with ctrl + space

    Global Key Override/Shorcut Mecanism
Available in Settings => Dock => Add Key Override Actions

This will allow you not only to redefine function keys assignment, and other special keys actions,
but you'll also be able to assign global macro actions / app launch to any key + Meta key combination (shift Left or Right , ctrl..)

You can also add multiple actions to one key combination, simply click again on the "+" button for the same key combination.
For example if you want to assign to one key combination a list of action to run before going to bed for example, like: turn wifi off, Bluetooth off, mute sound, and turn screen off, you can do that :)
Note that starting multiple applications with one key is kinda a miss and hit for the moment due to some mecanism in android that seems to prevent applications to start too close to each others.

    GPS:
if it is taking a long time to get a lock or no lock, follow this:

    Install the latest K.A.T app

    Then follow precisely this procedure:

    1) Location Settings
    - Go to Settings => Location => turn OFF (top right switch)
    - Turn it back ON
    - Make sure you agree to let google access the location.
    - Make sure the current selected mode is High accuracy

    2) Launch the new K.A.T app
    - make sure you grant it root access
    - make sure you have internet access
    - go to the install menu, Check the "Install GPS quicker fix + Assistance
    - Click the Install button
    - Make sure it says "Install Finished"

    3) Reboot
    4) Wait that it has finished booting and launching all the stuff you have starting at boot
    5) Start your GPS app outside with a clear sky line, to speed things up stay in range of the wifi / internet connection.

Do not let the gps app loose focus when it is trying to get a fix.
Do not let your tablet sleep / turn off the screen either.

Doing that here, the first time and with a cold gps start, and even staying in my house,
    I get a 6 sat fix within 30 seconds and 11 sat fix in 1min 15seconds.

From there subsequent fixes takes about 3 seconds to grab 7 sats and about 10 seconds to reach the 10-11 sat fix
(you still want to let it sit outside for a bit after the 1st fix, so that the ephemeris data gets consolidated and updated to help faster fix later on)

    Flash & HTML5 Video
Flash is not supported by default on Lollipop, you can still use it with Dolphin Dolphin Browser:
Install Dolphin Browser, install or activate Dolphin JetPack in settings, install the latest flash plugin.

Sites are migrating slowly to HTML5 video use the default browser & other webkit based browsers for HTML5 video support

    Storage (fstrim) and Database optimization:
Fstrim is native since 4.3 and will happen in the background if your tablet is idle / sleeping and that your battery is > 70%
There is also a script to run it manually in the rom: /etc/kat/optimizestorage

    To optimize the Database: /etc/kat/optimizedb

To run both, open a terminal and run:
    su
    /etc/kat/optimize
