Hello, i need some help. Coming from the october 27 release i want to update to the latest. But when i flash the cataclysmmod on the oct27 release, i get a boot loop. How can i fix this? Thanks in advance.

I'm using Dec 8th build and flashed the Cataclysm Jan05 mod thru twrp.
What changed? :(
I thot it'd be a security patch update. But I still see Dec patch.

u need to flash latest fake rom and then latest Cata-mod. download fake rom...unzip it....and flash boot.mg and system.mg ....and cata-mod...please read full instructions before flashing.

Oh, okay... I actually thought that cata-mod was also for the fake Nexus ROM users and they have to do it that way. But now I get what it is.
Thanks for the help :)
I'll just dwnld the twrp backup and restore my cataclysm settings backup, easier that way.

This has been a fun community especially this thread... mostly because @atl4ntis is awesome...when i started maintaining Cataclysm with @divvykev .. i learned a lot and it was really wise decision when i handed over to @xenyz... he is a lot knowledgeable than me.
now... i am moving over to Nexus 5...although a lot late in the game.. i still admire Nexus 5..this sud keep me going till next Nexus later this year...and of course Cataclysm runs in my Nexus 5 too. @xenyz... if u still need me for uploads... just pm me.

    FAQ

    I'm reading the FAQ, am i good?
    - You sir are the best.

    There's anything missing? Gapps?
    - Everything from stock is included, root, gapps, Google dialer, photosphere, no need to flash anything else.
    - Please avoid to flash third party Gapps.
    - GEL is not included.

    Does Cataclysm boots with ART enabled?
    - Since Nov 21 release Cataclysm is fully compatible with ART.

    Rebooting with ART resets it to Dalvik again
    - This happens if you have exposed framework installed.

    Is Cataclysm heavily themed?
    - No, Cataclysm is 100% stock themed.

    How should i install Cataclysm?
    - Do a Wipe/Factory reset and then flash. Strongly suggested to update to latest recovery.
    - Should be safe to dirty flash new releases over the old ones unless android version bump.
    - Cataclysm won't update radio or bootloader for you and this thread is not the right place to discuss about it.

    Why there are multiple packages on home and how should i flash them?
    - Flash Cataclysm ---> Flash Nightly Update package (if you want to have the 0day release) ---> Reboot.
    - If you already have Cataclysm installed (latest full release), just flash the Nightly Cumulative Update (no wipe needed).
    - Remember that latest cumulative update contains every single update from latest full release till that day.

    Why can't add lockscreen widgets?
    - They're disabled by default on Android 4.4. You can enable them in Security -->enable widget.

    Wi-Fi Tethering isn't working!
    - In Android 4.2+ tethered traffic is flagged so if your plan doesn't allow it, wifi tethering will likely won't work.
    - You can use some third party apps.

    I've enabled Immersive mode and now my bars are missing!
    - Just swipe from top or bottom for bars.

    My mobile signal/radio isn't working anymore!
    - There's a bug with TWRP that remove/corrupt your baseband during flash. Please refer to the twrp team for a fix.

    Why Smart Radio keeps shutting down itself?
    - To avoid loops, using the 2G3G toggle will deactivate Smart Radio.

    I get error when flashing Cataclysm
    - First make sure to compare the md5 against the one on the file hosting site.
    - If it matches consider some users are reporting issues with TWRP. Refer to the twrp team for a fix.
    - Don't wipe system. If you did, reboot again to recovery before flashing.

    Can't adb remount / init.d scripts aren't executed
    - This features needs a custom kernel, please refer to your best kernel dev.

    Can't select AM/PM clock style
    - You can't select it if you're using the 24Hour clock format.

    Show data activity on statusbar isn't working
    - For data activity i mean the little triangles over Wifi or Mobile signal.
    - They were removed, i've reintroduced them back as optional.

    Vibration on call pickup/hangup doesn't work
    - It works for remote pickup/hangup, you already should know when picking or hanging up a call yourself.

    Hot reboot toggle doesn't work
    - For security reasons it works only on longpress.

    I have radio/signal/gps/wakelocks/drain issues
    - Those issues aren't and won't ever be related to Cataclysm.

    Volume wake sometimes isn't working
    - When playing music you need to press both volUP and volDOWN to wake the phone.
    - This will let you to skip tracks without waking the phone while keeping the ability to do so.

    Smart Radio disconnect me on switch, it also takes seconds to reconnect
    - It's normal to get disconnected when you switch radio
    - Also switch is handled by the radio itself, can't make it better nor faster.

    Fast Charge toggle doesn't work
    - Fast Charge toggle needs a compatible custom kernel.
    - Also you can't toggle it while already connected.

    GPS toggle isn't working
    - There's a bug on Android where if you disable GPS while active it stays powered even if it shows as off, thus draining your battery.
    - So i've put a security check to prevent disable it when powered on.

    Why the option to longpress home to open app drawer is grayed out?
    - Unfortunately this feature depends on launchers, so actually is compatible only with Nova, Holo, Holo HD and Aphex launcher.

    Why wifi is always enabled on battery stats even if i turn it off?
    - Google by default use wifi for some location services even when it's "off".
    - Go to Wifi --> Advanced Settings --> Wifi scan always available to disable it.

    Cataclysm KitKat release

    Hello everyone !

    Have been reported that the test build boots so let's start the fun :).

    Some notes about kitkat release.

    FakeCall is gone, for good. This is cause google now uses a closed source dialer and FakeCall used part of it. I could use the aosp dialer but i don't want loose the google one features.

    Expanded desktop is replaced with immersive mode, keep in mind that is highly experimental.

    Rest should be like always.

    Smart3G is now named Smart Radio but his functionality should be the same for N4 users.

    Batteries are revamped since are all coded, no more png's. Others pngs have been modified to match current UI style.

    One thing to keep in mind is that i'm currently testing thing on a different dpi device. Despite i've made the icons for N4 aswell, please tell me if there are some UI glitches.

    Restoring backup should work, but not suggested. The way navbar size is handled is different so restoring it may give you temporarily an huge one.

    Probably you won't have transparencies on bars, you will probably need to install the gel apk.

    Here's the N4 changelog (read "you get all you used to have plus:"):

    - Immersive mode *Experimental* replaces Expanded desktop
    - Longpress lockscreen slider when maximized to unlock
    - QT: added Cataclysm toggle
    - Misc: force show menu

    thanks everyone for the nice reviews and comments.

    Just made a little update, nothing groundbreaking as rom is quiet stable.
    Here is the changelog:

    QuickToggles: brightness tile - added brightness values for Mako
    QuickToggles: stats tile - added cpu temp path for Mako
    LatinIME: added cs/da/el/fi/hr/nb/nl/pt-pt/sv dicts.
    QuickToggles: enable Ime tile.
    QuickToggles: own implementation of 2nd row for long labels.
    Misc: keep last task clearing all recents will "dismiss and go back" at the end.
    QuickToggles: enable force usb fast charge toggle only if kernel supports it and phone isn't charging/plugged.
    FakeCall is back.
    Added some extra steps for Music volume stream.
    Misc: sleep button on status bar is now optional.
    Misc: announce caller when on earphones/headsets.


    Also wanna thank @avyonix @bombadier @prembox @TToivanen for the help in testing this update.

    Carefull with inverted apps, gapps are fine, but if you replace fx contacts or phone, you'll break everything.

    I'll try to answer to your questions as many as i can:

    Read a little debate about if this rom is aosp or not.
    I think it's obvious that it's coded on AOSP, latest time i checked was above 1k contributions and over 25k lines of code.
    Here is a user friendly explanation i came up this afternoon:

    People keeps asking how's that possible a full stable custom rom before CM and others.
    This rom doesn't relies on other rom projects, besides few cp from cm, like lockscreen targets or circle battery, this rom is fully written by myself so i don't need to wait others to fix/do the stuff first.
    Also i like to keep code simple so it's easy to update.

    JWR or JSS
    It seems JSS has some nice bugs so everyday i'm even happier about my decision.
    From what i've read performance are the same, no glitch if using the correct kernel.
    About delayed notification, very few are experienced this and, funny thing, there are many jss users with the same problem.
    TL;DR Will stick to JWR, tho google is already on 4.3.1, which i think will be deployed relatively soonish.

    LTE mod is indeed not compatible with Smart3g.

    If i missed something please read the FAQ updated for 4.3.
