alright having some problems...have used this before back on .4, switched to another rom for a while but coming back. Everytime i try to flash it though i get "E: zip signature verification failed: 1
Error flashing zip ...1.2.6"

this happens with both 1.2.5 and 1.2.6.
I have done a few cache wipe's and nothing seems to help.

any ideas???

thanks

I should mention i have TWRP v2.6.3.3 fyi
do i need to revert back to 3.2 for some reason??
thanks

alright scratch that all. Somehow the box for zip file verification got checked under settings...don't think i would have done this. But unchecked it and it's all smooth now.

I am using the latest furnace kernel with 1.2.6 running flawlessly.

Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk

Furnace is super smooth and the sound is better. Bass hits more noticeably punchier with out viper. Battery seems to take a slight hit. Thinking about going back to 1.2.4 to compensate for the noticeable drain I still get a full day/night but its lower than it used to be before 1.2.6. Uninstalling google play services and using hangouts to reinstall helped with android OS drain.

Anyone having freezing issues? I was on 1.2.2 for the longest time with no problems. A week on 1.2.5 and I seem to have to force reboot two times per day at least, plus battery life has gone down a ton!

I dirty flashed .26 over a clean install of .25 on my brother's phone and the freezing issues remain. I think I'm going to roll him back to .24 as nobody seems to have trouble on that.

Where do I get the furnace kernel and do you flash it in twrp?

Sent from my VS980 4G

It is a Flashable zip. There is a post in the android development forum. There are 2 versions. The is a 2.5 Ghz version in the OP and a normal non overclocked version somewhere in the 30's pages. I like the non OC version because of battery issues where some applications run cores at maximum even if you manually under clock with a cup program. Make sure you wipe cache and dalvik before and after flash. Let your Rom boot once before flaking any kernel so it doesn't run the risk of bootloop. Use twrp 2.6.3.3 if you Can

I'm having an issue with 1.2.6 I've never had before, but remember reading others having with previous builds. I'm having issues sending MMS when in WiFi. They go out find when I turn WiFi off, never seen it before like others did. I don't remember what others did to resolve this, any help? Thanks. I use Go SMS.

I wouldn't say nobody.. 1.2.4 gave me nothing but troubles.. I went back to 1.2.3 and everything went back to normal and when 1.2.5 and 1.2.6 came out, I upgraded to them and they haven't given me any problems either.

I looked around and found the Furnace Kernel download but only the OC one. I don't want to OC. This phone is lightning already! Anyone point me to the non OC Furnace download?

This is a link to the post. The no OC is not on the OP and I don't know why the OPster didn't update but this link is good.

To answer the question the kernel had been very responsive and could be the answer to some people's lag in 1.2.5+. I have noticed more battery use but it still lasts a full day. With 2-3 hours of screen time. It seems to male stock DAC music sounds better and bass is punchier than before. I could never Getty viper4android sound to work with offline music. This is a decent alternative.

    Download

Get Malladus from Android File Host

You need the ROM and Gapps, LG Apps are optional!!!

    Instructions
    1. wipe data (if coming from ANY other rom)
    2. wipe cache
    3. flash ROM
    4. flash LG Apps (optional)
    5. flash GApps
    6. let phone sit for a few minutes once booted to settle (a lot is done on first boot)

If you get an encryption message on first boot, just reboot and it will fix itself.

Keep in mind that the first boot can take up to 10 minutes and may seem to hang on either the Google logo or the Boot Animation. Just give it time, it will boot.

Malladus 2.0 (modified stock 4.4.2) for VS980 Public Beta

The below link contains the information you need as well as flashing procedure and links to files. Please read the instructions carefully!

This has been successfully flashed from 11a, 12b, 17f, and 24a. If you are on 10b, IT WON'T WORK. I will try to get 10b working at a later point. If you've ever taken an actual OTA, this process should work just fine for you. If you are hesitant, PLEASE ASK BEFORE DOING ANYTHING.

    Quick update!

While 2.0 is working for some, other testers uncovered some scenarios where you could experience soft brick. I believe I have this fixed and am in the process of re-uploading 2.0 right now. I'll have it back in the testers hands by lunch and hopefully we'll be able to release tonight instead.

    Thanks for your patience!!!
