Having managed, with a lot of help from here, to root my P5110 I want to start exploring options as safely and easily as possible (such as trying out new ROMs and being able to recover. I feel that as a beginner to rooted devices I would be better off using a software tool to manage things and downloaded both ROM Manager and ROM toolkit which were the only all purpose apps I could find.

Having read about some of the problems and recent poor reviews agout ROM Manager I decided to go with ROM Toolkit, not least of all because their dev responds in 24 hours whereas I have yet to get one from ROM manager. - However before deciding I splashed out £1.99 in app purchase for CWM touch which is really nice to use. I find using the volume up/dwon and power keys awkward and confusing so this seemed a sensible development for a touch device.

I then started to use ROM Toolkit but immediately found that the back up and other features would not work "because the developer of ROM toolkit has blocked other apps from using the official version of CWM. Something I find very Applesque and not at all the kind of restirctive practice that I expected on Android! The developer of Toolkit (a very helpful and friendly guy) told me that TWRP would be the best solution but I have found that doesn't yet support the P5110 and nor does his other recommendation 4ext Recovery. He is continuing to try to help me but it looks as if the only solution might be to find a version of CWM which is compatible with my device and does not have this petty restriction - unfortunately this isn't going to be the touch version I am guessing, unless someone has manged to hack the touch version.

I could just bite the bullet and pay for ROM manager but I am really worried about paying for something that doesnt appear to be getting much in the way of support. I also keep reading bade reports about it even though it has been excellent in the past.

Does anyone have any suggestions of the best way to go here?

Hello,

You dont have to use ROM toolbox to flash custom ROMs especially cwm or CyanogenMod ROMs. You can download them manually boot into recovery mode and install the zip file from your sdcard. Or you can flash using Odin as suggested above. If you have any questions let me know and I'd be happy to help out where I can.

rom toolbox error

Okay.. so here is the thing

Tried font installer, tried to change the fonts a million times, but never succeeded. Uninstalled it, tried to install rom toolbox and i did.

Here i tried the font installer again, but failed. skipped this part and tried to install boot animations , downloaded one and when tried to install the same, it says "install failed"

So now i wish to know if there is some app or some possible reason why these super root apps are not working for me :crying:

Please help
