Requirements:
-Bootloader unlocked
-TWRP recovery 3.1.1-0 or higher
-Full wipe of all data on device recommended (external microsd-cards not affected) - needed if you want data unencrypted
-Minimum Firmware currently 2.41.401.4
-Adb & device drivers on pc
-Micro-sd-card

Recommended:
-S-OFF (this allows custom firmware flashing)
-Latest Firmware (currently 2.41.401.4)
-Update custom recovery (twrp) to latest version

Standard Installation Procedure (Clean Flash/Fully Wipes Everything):
-Update to latest official stock rom via RUU or OTA updates (currently 2.41.401.4)
-Copy "MaximusHD*.zip" (custom rom) on root of external sd-card
-Reboot device and keep vol- pressed (black screen with text - that's "download mode")
---optional update of custom firmware--
(-go to RUU mode with adb command "fastboot oem rebootRUU")
(-Send latest custom firmware via adb command "fastboot flash zip firmwarefilename.zip")
(-Reboot to bootloader with adb command "fastboot reboot-bootloader")

-Go to "reboot bootloader" (navigate with volume keys) and use power button to confirm
-In bootloader (white background) select "boot to recovery mode"
----ATTENTION---this step wipes all user-data on device!!----
-In recovery mode select "wipe" and then "format data" and confirm with yes
-In recovery mode select "reboot - reboot to recovery"
-In recovery mode select "install" and select the maximus rom zip from sdcard
-The previously done "format data" operation allows to disable encryption of data in aroma installer of MaximusHD-rom
-Choose Full Wipe and your options and install the MaximusHD custom-rom
-Reboot your device to "System"
-Let it complete the first boot (might take another reboot) and let it finish optimizing apps
-Finish install wizard and enjoy

Dirty Installation Procedure (Dirty Flash; only when coming from same custom rom):
-Copy "MaximusHD*.zip" (custom rom) on root of external sd-card
-Reboot device and keep vol- pressed (black screen with text - that's "download mode")

i imagine flashing the rom should work, as previous maximus roms did before.. but if you want to flash the newer fw (which i did), youll need to change your mid to the wwe one

if you want the newer firmware, yea, i'd do that.. but i didnt try to flash the rom before i changed my mid and flashed the firmware

you could still try it, if it doesnt work it will give you an error when you try to install the rom

Can this ROM be installed without s-off? I don't want to go s-off because I'm a bit new to the scene and I would prefer to stay s-on as some kind of security blanket for when I screw up.
