try apps that need root access & you will see that you do have root access. I just used RE to give RW access to / & /system.

Damn I just have a non-deodexed version of the contacts.apk. Not sure if this will work. It's from N7000 ICS Leak (Contacts.apk). Thanks for testing!
EDIT: Or as an other possibility I have attached the stock ICS Contacts apk from Galaxy Nexus. (ICS Contacts.apk)

this rom is by far the best ICS rom I've tried.
However, I have 2 issues spotted:
1. Swype is not licenced and I can't download new language.
2. messaging (sms) app does not work. FC
any solution to these ?
Also, there is no cifs module on the kernel. How can we get that ?

I am running the Chinese leak and it's XXLP1, what exactly do you mean by having both?

i have attached the contacts.apk from chinese leak version. It is deodexed and zipaligned! Those who wants to use this, they can push the file using root explorer to system/app and then reboot!
I don't think the problem is with the contacts.apk.
On my contacts I have area code and phone number, the numbers look like YYY-XXXX-XXXX
When I am on my city, I don't have to dial the YYY. If I do it, I don't have a match with the contact.
when I dialed the phone with the international prefix it did match besides the phone on my contact list not having the international area code (it actually matched the last 10 numbers).

Its a zip file, not apk??
I pushed it to system/app and renamed it to contacts.apk and the origin to contacts.bak and rebooted.
EDIT: whats wrong?
All is reversed, contacts.zip renamed to apk but failed.
Set another permissions?
Ur framework-res.apk won't decompile just throws .9 PNG errors, trying to add softkey mod
