yesm i know where to edit it in /res/values/bools.xml
but when i decompile this framework it throws a ton of .9 png errors, and wont compile after at all

W: Cant find 9patch chunk in file: "drawable-hdpi/list_selector_background_selected_light.9.png". Renaming it to *.png.

guys i'm confused about this ROM. do we really need to flash abyss 3.9 1st?? (i thought abyss was only for GB) what's the other kernel for on the 1st page... and instructions say only to flash abyss??

Yeah you need to flash first abyss kernel. It's the only kernel that allows to flash an ICS rom for now. After flashing the rom the abyss kernel is away again. You don't need the other kernel for installation.

curios is that the association of callerID with contacts worked stright after fresh install, after importing SIM contacts to phone this feature is gone and shows again that chinese name under the callernumber.

abyss kernel has a redpill recovery and it gives you lot of comfort in mounting external sd card...just follow the instrucitons and the rom works like charm

Abyss 4 and new 4.1 wont work and you have trouble.
I tested it with Abyss 4.1 and hangs at flashing.

i'm reflashing the chinese leak with Odin to get things going again, but what did i do wrong for when i try flash this wrong via cwm again???

Abyss 4 and new 4.1 wont work and you have trouble.
I tested it with Abyss 4.1 and hangs at flashing.

I use Abyss 4 with no issues, YMMV.

@maxit : 1. swype doesnt work. Only typing is allowed but not swyping
2. Forgotten by you to upload deodexed version of video player, hence no video player is available but can play videos using gallery though. Check the system/app folder and you will find videoplayer.apk and videoplayer.odex. ANyways i will upload videoplayer deodexed version now...

Remove the videoplayer.pak and videoplayer.odex from system/app using root explorer and push the attached version to system/app and reboot

I had the exact same problem. Only way to solve it:
- do full wipe
- flash abyss 3.9
- reboot recovery
- i did again a fullwipe
- restore my gingerbread rom


With abyss 4.1 it didn't work for me...

try to follow the instrucitons given by @-16-, if not then degrade your FW and then root. After rooting flash back the midnote as per instrucitons!

Download this kernel, copy it on your SD card, put card back in the phone, press volume up+power+home button and once in recovery, flash Abyss 3.9.

Than you can flash the ROM.
