I think most people uncheck auto. I run it as low as possible to save battery (16-18 inside) You can use the slider in the quicksettings to adjust it.

MMS not working

For some reason I cannot send out an MMS message, when I try to attach a photo I see nothing in the message. I have wiped, updated prl. I'm on Mikg 3.11, classic kernal, no other mods or scripts, any ideas? I really dont want to have to download another sms app.

I'm about to sell my evo and I want to wipe the phone. Everytime I do a factory reset the phone stops working. It boots up and gets to the point where I can see the home screen. But aside from the background there's nothing on the home screen. None of the buttons work other then the power button, and that only wakes the screen. I can't turn off the phone except by pulling the battery. The only way I can wipe the phone is to wipe and then reinstall the ROM. Any idea why it's doing this and how to fix it?

Try the unroot methods listed in this forum. You can go back to stock. Then let them mess with the phone.

I'd actually prefer not unrooting the phone since I listed it as rooted/unlocked. I was hoping I could just fix whatever is going on here. Is this just how this ROM behaves if you do a wipe? if so I'll just throw another rom on there.

Honestly I've never done a reset on a rooted phone. Doesn't seem like it would work to me honestly. Just reflash mikg or the rom of their choice.

Why wouldn't a factory wipe work on a rooted phone?

btw, I have done it before (although i dont remember if i did it with this specific rom) and never had any issues. Doing a factory reset should basically just wipe all your personal info and anything you installed after you first installed the rom.

I had a nandroid backup of the stock rom before i loaded any custom roms. I just restored that, and then factory wiped from that, and that worked ok. Phone is still rooted/s-off so he can still load whatever roms he wants on it once i sell it.

Sounds like you're possibly missing the setup apk. Just wipe and reflash or flash another rom. Then don't sign in to Google. Sell it and forget it

I did do a wipe and reflash, but i couldn't leave the phone like that since if i were him, I'd want to do a full wipe on the phone myself to make sure there's nothing funky left behind in the phone. at which point I'd probably get a phone call asking me why the phone isn't working

Since it wipes ok with the stock rom, I'm good now. He can do whatever he wants with it at that point.

Thanks, although just missed it by a few minutes - just sold the phone. So now it's someone else's problem should be fine though since it's got the stock rom on there now.

I'm on an OG Evo 4G, and have been flashing ROMs since I got the phone in Sept '10. Every ROM I've tried would eventually crap out on me (some issue or another would pop up; either right away or after some weeks of use). The only exception so far has been MikG. I seriously haven't had a single random reboot, force close, etc for maybe 3 months straight. This thing has been unbelievably solid on my particular phone. Thanks so much for developing this!

I do have two questions however, neither of which are particularly pressing...

1. I'm using the HTC lockscreen. Is there a way to replace the Mail shortcut with a G-Mail shortcut instead?
2. This next question is the only mini-issue I've encountered...I'm unable to save pictures from a text. If someone sends you a text with a picture attached, you should be able to long-select the picture and save it to your SD card. I do get the option to save, but when I click it I get an error stating that I don't have enough memory left on my SD card. This is wrong as I definintely have room. Any idea how to resolve this?

Just a heads up on my new setup..
My comments from the MikMik forum..

Just loaded uw-v08-sbcnohavs.zip and ultimateRAMscript plus this to see how things go..
let it settle for a week and come back with some results.

Edits 1: So far seeing improvements, as I am a heavy user of the multi-tasking between 2x translations programs and a nasty little set of social programs called "Wechat" and "QQ". If they it weren't such a good programs for hooking up with Chinese (girl)friends I would rip them out. But as it is, this kernel and script is letting the phone switch and not worry about lag and also not getting the random FC of the translate programs.

As to Batt life.. as said above have loaded the script as well, and this morning pulled of the charger, used the phone on for reading XDA, checking the social scene in the above programs for an hour on the way to work.. and Batt didnt move off 100% until 1.5 hours later.. I am sitting @ 97% about 2 hours of being off the cord.. god I hope this keeps up ;-).

Still early days yet, but looking promising..

Thanks for the help. Unfortunately when I click Personalize, nothing happens because I'm using a different launcher (you have to be using Rosie I'm pretty sure). Mik's ROM has that whole "debloat" section, and I actually de-bloated Rosie since I never use it. You wouldn't happen to know how to get it back would you? When I re-check the Rosie option, it acts as if it's reinstalling it but it doesn't actually work. I suppose I can just reinstall the whole ROM...

I went through that same process a few months ago and got it to work. You can just install the Rosie back without reflashing MikG.

One of the Best

Just have to say that I keep coming back to Mik. This ROM is still one of (if not) the best ROMs for the EVO.
Stable. Everything works. Fast.

I run it with Antrax kernel and a few Mods. V6 supercharged.


Only thing I would love to see is a 5 button Rosie and maybe Beats for fun.
(I think I can live wothout both).
