Edit it on your PC with Notepad++ and then push it back to /system
You can either copy/paste it or use adb to push it. If you use adb use adb remount root > adb shell > su > chmod 644 /system/build.prop
That will do it. If you select the file, then click menu and properties, you will see permissions. Owner R+W, Group+Other = R, R, R.
Just so you know, this build.prop tweak does not stop Stagefright. There is nothing that can be done at the moment other than to recompile the entire ROM with sources from CM and I do not have the sources. Fortunately, the chances of anyone on a custom ROM being infected is less than 0.001 - There are many other users that are being left out in the dust because of this. Anyway, the purpose of this tweak is to disable stagefright from auto processing an infected media file.
