How can I restore my nandroid backup from Codename android on WajkiUI? I installed WajkiUI and I totally loved it! but it crashed when I restored data from nandroid backup... so back to codename for now... but i want wiui.. any other way I can backup and restore data on wiui?
You cannot restore a nandroid backup of your data from one ROM to another. Instead, you should use Titanium Backup to save all your apps and their specific data to your SD card, and then restore them (do not try to restore system apps or data). There is a version available for free but, trust me, this app is really worth spending a few bucks.

hah .. very simple .. backup all from titanium backup .. and restore what you want to WIUI ( careful , dont restore system apps ) :) ......

OR

go to WIUI , open titanium backup , go to ' more ' see the option ' restore from nandroid backup ' .. .same procedure now restore what you want and reboot :))

So I cant restore contacts and messages?
SMS and contacts cannot be saved with Titanium I think (which has the one huge function to save apps and their data like settings, scores etc. 100% reliably so the apps age exactly as you left them when you wipe to install a new ROM) . But there are several apps for that in the Play Store, just search for backup or SMS backup ...

You can backup SMS and contacts and restore them on any rom.. I do it all the time.. No big deal.. Just never restore app.. Only data.. And only the ones required, not all the system apps data..

Swyped with my Defy using XDA app. ;)
Gimme a "Thumbs Up" if I've been able to help.. :)

Hey, can someone please help me with this problem.. I can't figure out how to fix it.. My phone crashes and hot boots at times when I'm about to receive a msg.. Now, I've tried different stages like freshly installed-no crash, system data restore only-no crash, restore critical apps-no crash (i was at this stage for a few days everything worked fine), then i restore everything else, nothing happens for a day or two.. Then it starts, especially when i need to use the phone the most! And i dunno how to use the alogcat app.. Can someone please guide me through this.. Before it wasn't frequent but now it's just painful.. I'm on ICS CM9 on dual boot for now.. I'm also not able to Undervolt beyond a very surprisingly high limit.. But that's a separate story for another day.. I need help with this asap please.. :'(

Hi,
I had the same problem since 2.3.16. I don't think it's "a separate story for another day" with the problem of undervolting. I personnaly managed to solve the problem (no hotboot for 2 days) with these settings:
VSel1 350/27 ; VSel2 650/37 ; VSel3 1050/57

Maybe we just have a weak CPU compared to average.
Good luck

Thanks, but that's not something I'm worried about.. I can handle the undervolting.. Right now i need to address this messaging problem.. It doesn't let me boot up properly once it starts hot booting! Continues till i somehow manage to receive the pending messages to be received! :'(

I have MobileGo installed which let's me send and receive messages via a connected PC. The first time I receive a message after a fresh install, the firewall (I think) warns that an app is trying to "intercept " the incoming message which I have to allow. Maybe your problem is related to something like this?

It may be worth installing a version that used to work well, make sure you can receive a message, then upgrading again.
