I haven't seen any comparisons, but more things work on the EVO 3D with the Gingerbread (GB) version. AFAIK there is still no USB storage support in Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) and I keep getting failed MTP driver installations on Windows 7 whenever I connect it via USB.
Since there hasn't been an official release of ICS for the E3D, I think the firmware is out of sync as well but I don't know how much difference that makes.
I'm told that ICS should be smoother than GB but I haven't really noticed that. For MIUI the interface is the same for both and very responsive for me.
I know joelz has done a lot of work on both the ICS and GB versions so I'm sure he'll be able to provide more feedback.
ICS has a few advantages over GB in general, but many of them (such as ICS keyboard, improved data controls, better lockscreen) are in many custom ROMs, including MIUI. There's still a few though...
Anyone have trouble starting the rom on 2.4.6 update? Hb1.5 I flashed the kernel fr the rom with GUI app.
I installed it after downloading it from the link on the OP of this thread when it was first posted a while ago and it booted fine for me with Hboot 1.5 and S-ON. Are you using 4EXT with the S-ON feature active to flash it?
I've since downloaded the "official" current EVO 3D Gingerbread version from the MIUI.US site which is a scott951 build labeled 2.2.23 in the file name, but the About Phone information once it's loaded shows build number MIUI-202170 (2.2.17?) and the OP on the MIUI.US website says 2.2.17 so I'm not sure what I actually downloaded, but it seems to run fine.
Following the MIUI Gingerbread version has gotten really confusing because we've had scott951, joelz, and digitalhigh versions lately but they haven't all been posted on the MIUI.US site. I don't know what's up with that, but I think the three of them are getting together to work it out.
