• If you are experiencing issues logging in, we moved to a new and more secure software and older account passwords were not able to be migrated. We recommend trying to reset your password, then contacting us if there are issues.
  • Nearly done! Migration cleanup is mostly done. There are a small number of issues left that we continue to work on, but all the heavy lifting is done. We still would love to hear feedback over at this thread and also check out the new XDA app! Thanks and we hope you enjoy the new forums, and thanks for your support of XDA <3

MIUI V5
3.10.11
Galaxy Nexus - Toro - Jelly Bean 4.2.2

This is a port of the Maguro build of MIUI V5 from china. Translations provided by MIUIAndroid.
MIUI is a heavily modified version of Android for the Galaxy Nexus and many other devices.

Changelog:
Code:
# APPS
* Added Sony Xperia Z Keyboard (SWIPE-ABLE!)
* MIUI Email (replaces AOSP email app)
* Added "AdFree" for ad blocking
* Added "Advanced Signal Status" app (check LTE/CDMA signal strength)
* Added new 4.3 Camera and Gallery
* Added Google Now (works with native MIUI search widget)

# ADDITIONS
* Franco kernel as stock (nightly 384)
* Face unlock
* init.d support
* Zip binary
* sysrw & sysro (mount /system rw or ro)
* flash_kernel script for using custom kernels with V5

# TWEAKS
* Moved MIUIAndroid folder contents to /data/extras/kernel
* Aggressive minfree settings
* Scheduler tweaks (deadline)
* Ability to turn off init.d settings at boot by user
* Headphone output boosted
* USB debugging notification hidden by default

# FIXES
* Basic Emoji Support
* CDMA single signal bars
* Custom kernel support (using "flash_kernel" script)
* Custom screen color values for pure whites
* Media Scanner issue fixed with workaround

# KNOWN ISSUES
* Dreams currently not working
Concerning the Xperia Z Keyboard:
I recommend changing the default layout and theme from the Xperia Keyboard settings.
I use Layout 3 and Theme 1.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Custom kernels CANNOT be flashed from recovery on this rom.
You MUST use the provided flash_recovery script. (see info below)
The contents of the MIUIAndroid folder on the sdcard have been moved to /data/extras/kernel
To flash a custom kernel, you need to place the kernel zip in the /data/extras/kernel folder.
LEAVE THE RAMDISK FOLDER ALONE!
Then you can open terminal emulator and type:
Code:
su
flash_kernel

## The script will modify the custom kernel for MIUI,
flash it, and reboot for you.
If you wish to turn off the automatic color settings, minfree settings, or scheduler settings that I have set at boot time,
you can go to the /data/extras/settings folder. Inside there are 3 files.

dominfree <- minfree tweaks settings at boot
docolor <- color settings at boot
dosched <- scheduler tweaks at boot

Simply delete the one for which auto setting you wish to disable.
You will need to do this if you wish to make your own changes to any of these settings stick.
Otherwise, they will revert back to the settings I have defined in /system/etc/init.d
