I installed MIUI 1.9.16 and when i go to about phone details it shows the processor as 1GHz, is this rom overclocked by default?

Yer it is, I ran it for a week without the overclock, made no difference to my battery and lower performance a tad.
When waking phone and getting calls sudden simple things, was fine with games and what apps just spikes of use it couldn't handle.

I've flashed my UK Retail Defy (stock Froyo) to MIUI - no issues at all but I've then noticed the recommendation to flash the nordic Froyo first...what differences am I missing in not having done this ?

doesnt matter...when u flash miui on ur phone the kernel is replaced anyway
the devs found that the nordic sbf was the most stable for base(but is one of the oldest)
so if u dont have bootloop ur ok with w/e base u start with
i did it with cee sbf

I got myself stuck in a bootloop and was forced to flash a full SBF and evrsince i was unable to install MIUI eversince.

Can someone help me out with this

P.S: the stock OS works fine

Does anyone have this problem with LauncherPro? All wallpapers are not so good quality on any MIUI, but on CM7 everything is ok ..

I would have provided some more info had there been any.

I flashed the full SBF and then install custom recovery and install MIUI and then thats it i am stuck in a boot loop.

P.s: if you want something ask for it, no use being harsh!

WIFI hotpot is not working for me. When I try to enable it, it says "Error". Anyone else facing the same problem?

which full sbf? is it a full froyo sbf or full gingerbread sbf?

if it was a full froyo sbf, maybe you should try a different sbf, just make sure it's not a full gingerbread sbf.

I have both a green and a red lensed Defy - the green one has MIUI 1.9.30 on it and has no ability to record 720P video (as I expected) - can anybody confirm whether this limitation will also be present on the red lensed Defy if I flash that ?

kernel limitation...we will never have 720p recodring on cm7 or miui with froyo base
maybe if the bootloader will be unlocked then the devs will do magic

So next logical thing is to evolve to some latest kernels, like walter79 does with MS2Ginger...
I tried 720p recording from MS2Ginger and I think it is just too much to have that on mobile phone...Im pleased with this HIGH rec that is in MIUI right now.

MIUI.US has the best ROM for Motorola Defy. It works the way defy was manufactured to work.

Does the lock screen torch work properly no having to touch screen first? As the miuiandroid one doesn't.
