you update dirty or clean flash?

Clean, was using Mega's rom. Also a very good rom. I just like the aosp feel that Bri is working so hard on. I miss having an unlocked bootloader and choices. I may not have gotten the note 3 from at&t had I researched prior. Nothing I can do now. I do however love the device! Just don't like the restrictions. Should have gotten an international or t-mobile version.

I to have no issues with the icon not being there and I did a dirty flash to test out. So far all working well. Continuing to monitorand will report back later

IMO the rom is perfect the way it is. Touchwiz with the taste of Aosp. Also the size of the rom 800MB is perfect. I like the samsung apps that it still has. Overall this rom is unique.

I could live with that. I really don't use any of the Samsung apps and prefer Google apps. I actually did some testing a while back to this effect to see how lite I could go!

Ive been lurking around on this thread and I think Im about to pull the trigger and download this in one my empty slots. Question: I am currently running XNOTE 7 and reeeeally like the dark SMS app it comes with. Is any any option to flash that over on this one?

Tango and Skype. The Other persons volume is super low. I had tango Installed first and thought maybe it was the app. So downloaded Skype. Same result. I talk to my family on those. Tried two different family members. one with a 5s and one with a note 2 both had same result bad volume for me hearing them. So I reinstalled to both apps and rom. Same result. I know this because I switched to the knox rom and the problem is fixed. So it's a issue with the rom for sure. Just wanted to give you some fyi

Its something I worked up. Seems easiest to do with this ROM and has endless battery.

My Google app FC.. I flashed the patch and it fails when I do it.. then I cleared the data in the apps manager and it still FC so what should I do maybe I missed a step??

Yes, use Se file explorer. Go to the X note ROM zip file. Click it, it'll open up the contents of the ROM. Go to system/apps/secmms.apk. extract it. Then go to a root browser app (I use rom toolbox because it has everything you need.) From there go to system/apps/secmms.apk. and either delete it or move it to your external sd card. Just in case something goes wrong. You can bring it back in. Then exit out of system/apps. Then go to storage/external sdcard/wherever you have that extracted apk from the xnote rom. Press and hold it. Copy then hit the back button until you can see system. Click it go to apps and paste your apk. Then change your permissions to rw-r-r then reboot. Not you should have the other sms app in your phone. You can do that with so many other apps as well. Like I do with my keyboards. Let me know if I made something complicated.
