I'm trying to figure that out too. I posted the same thing in Philz thread.
Perhaps your options in philz backup weren't set to include the SE Context? You'll find that under the backup and restore menu. Then select Misc Nandroid Settings. Then check off Process SE Context - JB 4.3

That's the ONLY thing that does make sense. You didn't have good backups. Backups are read only. Flashing a ROM does not write to backups.

EDIT: I'm downloading this again and backing up my phone as we speak. I will wipe and flash it again as I've done many times before even creating this thread. Independent feedback from someone else would be greatly appreciated.

That worked thanks bro. I'll try and download the rom again later and install it again. Frustrating that something so simple can have you banging your head for hours.

Not a problem. Glad that worked! Try it again. I must have flashed this 20+ times prior to posting it. I'm not exactly a noob either ;). I've been flashing many years.

Here's a list of everything that is wiped in a full wipe using Philz:

/data
/cache
/sd-ext
/sdcard/.android_secure
/storage/sdcard1/.android_secure
/system
/preload

that's quite a bit and should remove all traces of a prior ROM when flashing MK2.

The flash itself on a clean wipe took about 1 min 45 secs.

The first boot took about 3 mins and 10 secs to get to the first screen. No hangs. No FC errors. It installed perfectly.

Updated to this rom from MJA rooted/deodexed with the MJA modem. Flashed the MK2 rom, but didn't have wifi until I flashed the MK2 modem. Everything works great.

I followed the instructions in this thread to flash the MK2 modem:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2338919

I should also note that I had used the same thread to flash the MJA modem to my phone when I went to the MJA rom, so this post is mostly aimed at anyone who goes to MK2 from MJA using the same path I did, and lost wifi after going to MK2.

Anyway, thanks again for the ROM!

Yes. I have a MF9 bootloader myself. You'll be fine. Just follow the install in the OP.
Thanks! I'll download, but also wait for mk2 hotspot mod, I need it at home.

BTW, you said in some point the this mod has stock kernel, however you signature is KT Kernel (I am on it too). Is there a KT already for MK2 mate with this mod?

ah my sig needs updated. I'm running the stock kernel. It's been reported this works with the latest KT kernel for TW. I'll test it. As for the hotspot mod? I'm testing that right now. fgr and I are on the case my friend. hang in there.

Edit: Thanks to @fgr and @crawrj the hot spot is up and working on MK2. I am uploading a new release of this ROM which includes the hotspot mod.

Is there any chance you could upload a version with modem, kernel, and wifi working?

Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda app-developers app
I'm currently looking for testers with an older modem to see if the WiFi issue has been fixed. Anyone running MJA or MF9 modems please send me a PM or just go ahead and flash it and post your results here. Thanks!

Yes it's being uploaded as we speak. Keep checking the OP. You should be able to dirty flash this over your existing MK2. And thank YOU for confirming it didn't brick your phone :cyclops:

And now? I'm off to bed! I work nights and I'm exhausted! lol! I've had no sleep for about 36 hrs! I've been so excited to bring all of this to you guys I just couldn't sleep until I knew it was right.

I flashed this rom and had no WiFi with the MF9 modem. WiFi would simply not turn on. When I flashed the MK2 modem, my WiFi returned.
