Re: [ROM][MB1][TW]The People's ROM GS3.14 -WORKING MULTIVIEW/3 KERNEL choices! 3/17/1

New method with kernel updates you have to force stop ktweaker app and then clear data if it is done a different way it will not clear data it will leave some bad data behind its a flaw in the OS n not the app itself so I will write you a step by step on how to do this

Thanks ktoonzs for the new method of the ktweaker app

Ok here we go

Step 1: goto settings on the phone

Step2: goto app manager then all apps

Step3: scroll down to ktweaker app n open it

Step4: once open hit FORCE STOP and then hit CLEAR DATA

Step5: now reboot and flash your new update of ktoonzs kernel and all should be good to go after that

P.S. This has to be done before flash every new kernel update

Thanks again ktoonzs for the new info

Will restoring backup settings install the bad data again?

Followed that, it's a no go on mb1 and don't feel like downgrading right now... thanks for confirming, bud!
I will try this method again today to see.

Edit: Yes it appears that method no longer works after MA6. Quickest way is nandroid, flash LJ7 ROM and get MSL, write it down everywhere and then restore.

That's the video I went by before installing. I tried version4.0 off the official website. Did you get AC!D AUDIO to work for you?
I have not tried it.

Hey! Does anybody know how to change the long press menu button to not kill my apps? Just search whatever I'm in like usual?

Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
Gotta love the complexity of the android.policy.jar! ;) So many mods in there!! :p Anyhow...
Here's a zip to return the long press menu function back to stock : http://d-h.st/5rw
And if you want it to kill apps again, flash this : http://d-h.st/eWk

Thanks, this was nice to change. Now that I have Greenify and ROM Toolbox managing my rogue apps pretty well the process killer long press isn't nearly as useful as having search available in most apps.

Speaking of useful here's a screen shot of multi window plus popup browser to check my md5 prior to flash. What a great rom and community. Power to The People!

HELP! Stuck in boot loop, but can get into TWRP

I was fooling around with lock screens trying to get it to where I had pattern lock enabled after 5 minutes but basic swipe lock instantly upon screen off. I *swear* I disabled the ripple effect first. Tapped power button to turn screen off, then tapped power again, screen lights up then screen stuttered then went into boot loop where only pulling battery out can stop it.

Able to access recovery fine, running a recent version of TWRP. Selection boot into system in recovery causes boot loop again, only battery removal will stop it.

Did a TWRP nandroid backup just yesterday, which is located on external SD.

What's my best way back? And what should I do first in settings - lock screen upon a successful boot?

- TPR 3.14
- KT747 kernel with some tweaks, but all worked well prior to this issue
- Nova Prime (no TW launcher installed in aroma when I flashed tpr 3.14)
- Was previously running 3.14 experimental version with multi window
- Recently installed the mod to remove menu button long press application killer, but phone was working fine until I changed lock screen settings so I don't think the menu button mod is likely at fault.

Just go into recovery and flash the rom again right over and it should boot right up.

Thanks. Have to D/L TPR again just deleted it off my sd last night ("gee, i'm happy with tpr no need for it to take space on my card any more..."). Waiting for DL to finish then will reflash.

TPR FTW!

Hey, Kenny, I thought that you would get a kick out of this. I flew out to San Francisco for GDC (Games Developers Conference) today. Sat next to one programmer and behind another one. All three of us have Galaxy S III phones. When they saw mine boot up, they both went "Where can I get that?"

Showed off multiview and basked in the "phone envy."

Thanks and TPR For The Win!

I always keep a copy of the most recent version or two, just in case - it's worth the space if your external sd card is big enough (I kept the 16 gb from my OG Epic)

Thanks worked like a charm. Less than 10 minutes to re flash rom and a few mods and restore my morphology theme.

Hello all,

Quick question, I'm about to flash this rom over cm 10.1, do I have to do any thing special other than a clean flash?
