I can't figure out what is going on with my phone. Been on the charger (the one that came with the phone) for the past hour and some and have watched the battery go down from 23% to 16%. I'm not even using it. I had a couple of texts come in, but that is about it.

Where do I start checking? What info could help get to the bottom of this?

Install better battery stats XDA version to start with and see what is keeping your phone awake. Also what is your signal strength? I had this happen to me too found out that my Airave was off due to a power trip.

I have that version of Better Battery Stats. I can't see much unless I unplug, though. I guess I'll let it sit off of the charger for a bit and see what shows up.

In the last hour, it went back from 16% to 17%, so it at least charged, but that is INSANELY slow.

Signal strength is great. 4G and 5 bars, so that shouldn't be an issue. It is at my work desk anyways, where I've never had this severe of a problem.

Okay now it is going up off the charger? Sounds like a over heating issue. Take it out of what ever case you have it in and let it sit and see what happens.

Earlier versions of BBS caused battery drain of their own due to constant monitoring. The most recent version I used accommodated this by making active monitoring an option, so that you can leave the app installed when you no longer need the detailed information without draining the battery excessively. Look in the options to turn it on if you would like to get more info even while the phone is plugged in (but remember to turn it off when you solve the problem)

No, I plugged it back in after a little while and it eventually did go up 1%. Took quite a while, though.

This version is probably a month or two old? Am I just looking for an option called "Active Monitoring"?

Can't even leave it on enough to try and monitor it. Battery continues to drop while on the charger, so I had to turn the phone off and let it charge for a bit. I guess I'll try again later.

Okay sorry misunderstood then. I do think there is a over heating problem with the battery and this phone in certain cases.
I second this, I had a few issues with my otterbox and the three month old battery still doesn't seem to have recovered - I fear permanent damage... Might be trying to get a replacement soon, since a full wipe and clean install with no extra apps hasn't fixed it yet...

Have you rebooted the phone?

I'm out of the case, now, but I'm not sure it will be of much help. I have a very minimal case and I didn't notice any heat on the phone at any point. I'll certainly try it, though.

Yes, I did. Lost another 1% during the reboot process and never gained it back.

After the reboot the drain continued? Or is it charging better. Have you checked to see if there's any app running in background or a download going on?
EDIT: the airplane mode suggestion is a good one also.

Try putting it on airplane mode and see if you are still draining your battery while plugged in?

The drain continued. I rebooted after charging with the phone off It was at 18% after it restarted. After about 5 minutes on the charger, it went to 17%. Since then, I started streaming a podcast. It is about 10 minutes in to the podcast and it has stayed at 17%. Not gaining, but not draining, so it seems to be a little better at the moment.

After this podcast, I will monitor it and possibly try airplane mode. Thanks for the suggestion.

Are you plugged into the wall or a power strip?

How do I change the network name back to sprint from "the peoples rom". That makes sensorly not report mapping properly.
