I've also recently dug out my tf101 (not G). To get it running, I have all that's listed at the start of this thread. The problem I'm having is the dreaded KatKiss boot screen "lock up", where it just sits at the KatKiss load screen. This seems to happen after I connect to Google Play. With the base setup (see below), I can add my Google account and connect to Google Play. If I try to do a new app install or update, the device reboots and goes into the KatKiss boot screen with the animated start, and stays there. From there, with the device USB connected, I can issue "adb reboot recovery" to get to TWRP and then perform the factory reset wipe (wipes data, cache and Dalvik). If I don't connect to Google Play, I think it might be fine. I've tried newer version of open_gapps and either they won't install or, with the most recent open_gapps-arm-6.0-pico-yyymmdd, the TWRP installer kicks back saying there isn't enough space. I see my 2016 gapps has a size of 66,664 KB. Next one I have is from 20170718 with a size of 124,359 KB. Seems much more has slipped into the "pico" version since the 20160219 release. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm wondering if NOT installing gapps and going with a different store would work better (e.g. Amazon?). I'd rather have the tablet connect to my Google account and use Google Play, but it causes it to crash/lock with attempted updates, then it doesn't make the tablet very useful. I've turned off auto-updates to control what gets installed/updated, but it seems that once the table is Internet connected AND my Google account added, it's going to try and connect back to the mothership at some time and pick up a bug to send it into the start/boot-lock.
My setup:
1. TWRP 2.8.1.1
2. KatKiss 6.0_034
3. BETA SuperSU v2.52
4. open_gapps-arm-6.0-pico-20160219
To get connected via ADB.exe, I used "adb-latest-install.bat". I'm running Windows 10 Pro.

I think I'd like to try using the tablet without Google Play. I saw
@Papounet1961 suggest Huawei. Any alternate app store/repositories recommendations?
