Speaking of F2FS, I've been running it and so far, I think I flashed a non-F2FS kernel accidentally and got my setup corrupted to where Photos and Hangouts was rebooting my phone and then I couldn't even get into TWRP. So got to be careful what you flash after you convert.
It's largely for reasons like this that I avoid f2fs. Has anybody really noticed a huge difference in performance on this phone? I tried running up the IOPS in a terminal with f2fs a ways back and didn't see any really interesting difference in numbers between it and the normative. Tried burning through battery life too.

Is there something with this ROM's kernel specifically that leverages the fs better?

No real differences

Most benchmarks I'm reading show that it is faster in a lot of benchmarks
http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2697069
Also many people say they improved their Nexus 7 1st gen and the Nexus 4 with f2fs.
To me, it feels smoother when using Chrome and overall, never feel any lags. I know ext4 is improving as well and is no slouch either but I also believe that f2fs is written to also improve the lifespan of flash storage.
Also, Motorola choose f2fs to put on the 2013 Moto X, not sure about any other phones, and that phone was praised at being fast, some reviewers even said it was because of f2fs on the /data
Just got to be careful with kernel that don't support f2fs, since flashing these will corrupt your data. Which is what I wanted to point out.

F2fs and the new ROM

Flash friendly says anything! It's made for ROM flasher like us to prevent slowdowns caused by wiping and re-write the Partitions over and over again. Ext4 is simply Not made for this. It's Not just a thing of more Speed with F2fs,it's more like a life boost for your Storage...

Looks like HD6 can't Run with F2FS, but i will find a way to make this a Standard on Future ROM Updates! BTW. I can't believe it but HD6 Sounds just better than HD5.2 and there is a huge diffrence in Speed. My New Base is a lot more Awesome! The New Thread is also in the Work! I will make a HD5.9 Pre Release on my New Thread, HD6 comes with the new Security Patch....

Stay Tuned

EDIT: New Thread goes Online when the Final HD5.9 boots up! x)
EDIT2: Booted and now Uploading! Here we are... http://xdaforums.com/nexus-6/development/omni-hd5-9-rom-t3304759/post65061466#post65061466

What version of TWRP are you using for F2FS? I'm using the xanaxdroid one. Also, have you tried TinyBox, that replaces busybox and supposedly smaller?

The last post (by optimumpro) of the thread you linked:

Unless I am not seeing something, with the exception of a few mb faster read speed, all other parameters are lower in F2FS, including performance, which in my book translates to horrible. And it is not surprising. All major file systems have been created and maintained by Linux (about 85%) and Microsoft (the rest). Compare that with Samsung. Granted, they make some good electronics, but in no way they can have expertise and experience to mach the first two.

So, if anyone wants to go through some trouble to move to F2FS and as a result degrade his device performance, then I guess it is worthwhile...

P.S. I know some may claim "amazing" speeds after going to F2FS, but I bet you can get the same "amazing" speed if you reformat all partitions and SD cards in ext4 and start anew without remnants of your prior roms...
