60Hz Refresh Rate

Guys I think that the refresh rate is locked or something by the kernel. There are scripts out there made for custom kernels which enable/disable Vsync. So, if we could get the source of the kernel, then we could change the refresh rate. Or the other method would be to pull out lines from the Pimp My ROM app or other apps which give us an option of disabling Vsync. Kindly everyone look into it.

WIFI Issue Fixed

Guys,

Wanted to give you an update, the base AK ROM which i used itself had an issue with the wifi. the very first ROM which i created and tested on my phone did not have this issue. However i am unable to identify which file is the one causing the issue. I am doing a compare of the files to find the culprit.

Sorry for the miss. Will update you once i have this working.

FORUM MEMBERS PLEASE REFRAIN FROM DOWNLOADING THE ROM TILL FURTHER UPDATE ON THE WIFI ISSUE

Wi-Fi Issue Fixed

Guys,

After comparing the files between a ROM with working Wifi and non-working Wifi, i finally figured out the reason for the issue.
In Android Kitchen when you prepare the zip file, it deletes all the unwanted files.. especially if they are zero bytes. In case of our device we have two symlinks that are defined in the /lib/modules folder which points to other files within the same folder. AK was deleting these files automatically at the create time.

Please find attached herewith a small patch file that you can flash the same way as you flashed the ROM and your wifi should start working.
Please let me know if the problem is resolved.

I would like to thank DaveConnor for pointing out that there were files missing in the modules folder. +1 for Dave :)

Took me time to figure out its at the creation of the zip file that we were losing out the symbolic links

I found out that
................................................................................................................................
LG optimus L3 E400 has the same magnetic and orientation sensor
bmm050 and bmc050 respectively.....
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .....

NB: In a separate scenario one of xda dev has a thread

"""""""""
Q:Compass started acting up after upgrading to Froyo! ?
A:I just completed this process on my Desire, and it worked.

I noted that the cause in my case is actually the G Sensor calibration utility. It creates a compass calibration owned by system user that cannot be written by the compass app. owner, resulting in calibration silently failing when compass is closed.

Before g-calibration (Normal working state)
# ls -l /data/misc/AK8973Prms.txt
-rw-rw---- compass compass 443 2011-03-28 09:05 AK8973Prms.txt

After - no more calibration capability (file truncated as well)
# ls -l /data/misc/AK8973Prms.txt
-rw-rw-rw- system system 45 2011-03-28 11:58 AK8973Prms.txt

Doing the root thing as above, then the following fixes it:

chown compass.compass /data/misc/AK8973Prms.txt

Just avoid calibrating g-sensor...

Cheers"""""

So what you guys think?
Devs are invited to look into it!
Lets make it happen!!

Hey manuhjmc,
Thanks for your kind words. Let me be the one to answer your question since it was i who released this ROM to the group. If you read my second post you will come to know what all features it has . I agree what is offered are very basic things (rooted busybox, zipalign at every reboot etc) but please note that this is my first attempt at creating a ROM and the plan is to build this ROM bottom up (it goes without saying that this is not possible without the help of other forum members). Also i feel a better approach to creating our ROM is giving each individual the ability to pick and choose what one wants or does not want in a ROM.
Hence the intention is to create small update.zip files that a user can apply as per his/her choice. Once we have a considerable list of features and applications available (and tested ), the plan is to release a new version that will provide an AROMA installer to ease the installation process (WIP to understand how to modify the configure the installer)

If you find the above meaningful, i welcome you to be part of the ROM creation. Please try out new applications and scripts that you would like to include in the ROM, create update.zip patches and release it to this group. Also let me know so that I can mention about these in the initial posts of this thread. I will also maintain a repository where all the code will be available and easily accessible to other members and in due time release the AROMA installer version of the ROM.

Cheers

oh yeah,so you finally can flash!I declared before that these ROMs are not tested, use them at your own risk!If you are crying over 500mb then don't download any ROMs and if you can say that much why don't you make some ROMs!Can you make Aroma scripts?no i don't think so!that is somebody else!!!!!!

Installing the custom ROM is solely your decision and I am not responsible if you mess up with your phone.

I have tested the ROM's that I am uploading

Adding sample Updater Script and working Update binary file. Would be useful for other ROM developers.

    Adding base ROM
    Steps:

NOTE: Take a complete backup using CWM ( might be useful in case you want to revert back to the previous state) .

    1) Download @ http://d-h.st/cfq and copy to your SD card Also download Wifi Patch Refer post 4 below.
    2) flash the IndiAndroidvx_x.zip file using CWM... use the install zip from SD card, locate the IndiAndroidvx.x.zip file and choose yes to flash it.
Also flash the wifi_update.zip in the same way.
    3) Clear Cache and Dalvik Cache
    4) Reboot your phone

Future Additions will be done as update.zip patches so the file sizes can be small

    Version History

V1.0: Stock ROM with following features
    1) Pre-Rooted
    2) Busy Box
    3) Zip Aligned at every run
    4) Support for init.d scripts
    5) Removed few MMX stock Apps ( Will be creating an update.zip containing template script that one can use to remove any stock app.)
    6) Added following apps to system. I prefer having these apps always available and running as part of the system apps. Feel free to remove any app that you deem unnecessary as part of your system files.

    System Essentials
    Android System Info
    App Installer
    BatteryCalibration
    ES File Explorer

Quick Boot -- Use to quickly boot to recovery / reboot
