New Feature Question

MOAR 6.1 New Stuff

Version 1.1 is now available. Only thing new in this release is Ambient Display.
The toggle to enable it is available in:
Moar Mod Control/General Mods/Lockscreen options

If you want to see what it looks like:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5TyhaOjME5g

The ambient display is a Nexus 6 feature that enables a strobing black and white screen when new notifications come in. The screen will strobe several times when the new notification initially comes in then the phone will sleep and it will come back on periodically. The only feature available to us is the screen effect. The pick up and the selection shown in the youtube video do not work for us.

The New Stuff thread is here -- > Post #4

If I am understanding this correctly the ambient screen feature is only activated after a notification comes in? Looks like a cool feature, sweet td

Yes. Not sure about all notifications but the ones that would normally show on the lockscreen, Emails, texts, hangouts, missed calls... those are the only ones I normally see.

I use Battery Bot Pro. Last night it was displaying the notification while it was charging, but just like it was supposed to, the ambient display was further and further apart.

i havnt seen the ambient display come up at all do we need to disable the showing of notifications in the sound & notification section or anything special waiting around thinking it would show ambient notification it never did. i unlocked my phone n i had like 3 text msgs ...

in my settings under sound and notifications i have it enabled to show all notifications on lockscreen

I'd like to flash this rom using Safestrap. I know the bloat tool uses aroma, but does the regular first flash also use aroma? If so, you can't flash using Safestrap, since it doesn't support aroma.

Has anyone tried flashing MOAR with Safestrap?

Sorry... It's the same one I posted this morning. I was just having problems with it so I had removed. But after wiping caches it was working. So I posted it back up.
Guess I'm lucky, didn't wipe cache and I'm not having any problem other than what I mentioned about the ambient screen, but it's livable.

    • Add the recovery file to AP / PDA (depending on version of Odin)
    • Make sure re-partition & Auto Reboot are NOT ticked
    • Click the start button.
    • Unplug & Reboot phone directly into Recovery Mode (press and hold Power + Volume Up buttons)

    Stage 3:
Backup EVERYTHING you want to save from internal and external (SD) storage.

    Flashing the Rom
    • Format both internal and external storage
** Optional but HIGHLY recommended (Coming from AOSP it's required).
    • Reboot back to the stock rom and copy the ROM to INTERNAL storage.
    Note:
    - This step is optional if you are running a recovery like KTsoonsez_TWRP_04-06-2015.tar.md5 or TWRP-KT.ALL-IN-1.zip
(same recoveries btw, but I created a .tar.md5 Odin flashable version) since these recoveries mount storage and you can copy the rom.zip file
    while still in recovery.
    • Reboot back into custom recovery.
** If its not there, repeat Stage 2.
    • Do a FULL wipe but do not reboot yet
There is no need to wipe internal or external storage again.
    A full wipe includes:
    Dalvik Cache
    System
    Data
    Cache
    • Flash ROM and reboot.
** Custom Lollipop ROMs take about 20 minutes to get to the setup screen, so be patient.

*** Please note - this ROM is compatible with all Sprint Lollipop builds, but you MUST select the stock kernel during ROM flash if running firmware newer than OA6. ***

Agreed if you're going to be sneaky and take it be before it's been offered.... Then be SNEAKY. [emoji1]

    You farging sneaky bastages

LOL! :p You all are awesome! 41 downloads and it's not even posted :D I'm having problems with the XDA server upload, but PMs have been sent. So for now you all will have to grab it from AFH here:
    https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934529177
I will update the OP later even if the XDA Server I/O issue persists. Also the Q&A courtesy of @Ramer has already been updated, and linked to the OP. Finally the OA6 firmware instructions in the 2nd post have been updated as well.

Thanks to all of you here! It's this type of excitement that makes all the long hours worth it.

And please don't forget to thank @tdunham as well!!
He's also put in a large boat-load of time getting OA6 ready.
