Its possible that your modem and firmware form oreo rom is not compatibile with los14.1 (if you don't downgrade from oreo to nougat)I used the Feb and sep build and in both the cellular network was not available and I didn't find any option to search for network and the fingerprint sensor was also not working
So I desperately want to downgrade from oreo to LOS 14.1. My last attempt was a failure. So I have a new proposal.
1. Fastboot flash Nougat (except Bootloader and Gtp)
2. My device will soft brick. (Restarting again and again and showing "erasing" message repeatedly.)
3. Now I fastbot flash TWRP and then LOS 14.1
Wil this work? Kindly help.
I know it's been a while since I last posted a build. I will make a build this weekend and post it.@kalyansundhar
Would you still consider maintaining LOS 14.1? :fingers-crossed:Unfortunately everyone is focusing on =>Oreo now.. But I think there are still alot of appreciative N-users out there![]()

NEW BUILD: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410963190603848665
Change log: November 18 Security Update
NOTE: Like so many other users, I too updated my device with OREO and stuck with that. I haven't tried downgrading it because I don't want to end up with a hard-bricked device once again. Point here is the new build is not tested. So please take a TWRP backup before using this build. Don't forget to post me even if works fine.
Thanks,
KS
Is it possible to just update the rom instead of reinstalling everything?
It is time to say goodbye. I exchanged my g5s device for Nokia 6.1 plus.
Journey with g5s was so exciting. With all your help and support, we managed to bring the first custom rom for this device. We managed to come up with tools and procedure to unbrick the device. I thank for all your support.
G5S is one of the solid device. Unfortunately it is a product of Motorola and we required their mercy to get security updates to the least.
I wish everyone all the best. Once again thanks for all your kind support. If anyone wants to take over future builds of LOS14.1, please feel free.
Wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year in advance.
Regards
KS

I am willing to continue development of montana, a.k.a Moto G5S. But since I personally don't have the device, I need fellow contributors and testers. I already have , Reviver Kernel, a build of LineageOS 14.1 (updated from where @kalyansundhar left) and I am starting Oreo bringup for the device. Interested members may join my testers' group on Telegram at https://t.me/montana_reviver . :fingers-crossed: Here's my github: https://github.com/rajatgupta1998

Try flashing downgrade files via fastboot (worked I'm my case)[email protected],
Downgrading from Oreo, this rom even don`t start booting. (In my Case)
Other twrp flashable roms are working using the downgrade procedure posted in g5s Thread.
Any idea??
Thanks in advance!!
