walter, when i removed the backup from defy, I removed the img files, leaving only the system,perhaps this is where I went wrong? your opinion, thanks!

Try this:

Make a backup of your running build. (wipe data/cache --> backup)

Could you tell us the version of ClockworkMod. I used 4.0.0.6.

Post your full backup.

How about adding the T-Mobile theme chooser. I like CM7 but its a little dark, would love try this, but i don't wanna be stuck with the same look (and you wouldn't have to create any flashable themes unless you wanted to, your work is always great tho). I know it is open source from T-Mo's github. I have read it was framework dependent but i could have sworn i saw either a flashable zip or apk for the engine itself. Thanks. Great work.
