anyone else experiencing no 3g network? for some reason i'm only getting edge on it using tmobile in us after flashing 1.9.9. can anyone shed some light? i've searched google, miui.us, as well as here.

Maybe you don't have the proper baseband. Use defy baseband swticher to chage it (make sure you grant it root access).
i have indeed changed the baseband to the 3 us ones and only one works but displays an "h" instead. i have no idea what this means.
I installed MIUI over Froyo CEE and most recent versions save the original baseband. But before, when there was no script to save existing baseband, I used to install UK or CEE ones.

Is there a new fix, or way to flash a zip for swype, instead of the workaround that is a lot of steps and having to rename and push files?

I believe that's referring to the special "MI" button on the Mi phone. Not applicable to Defy.

Why is everything going from bad to worse? The silent and vibration notifications are gone! And now every time you tap on a contact's picture, both the horizontal and vertical menus pop up together! Fix this please!

I wasn't able to get it to work, it fc'd on me. Did you do anything besides the basic install from the website?
The only thing I did was went into custom recovery and did a cashew wipe then went to the Swype beta site from my phone and signed in and downloaded the installer to my phone. Installed and followed what it asked for and it worked. Hope this helps. If you have fcs try uninstalling everything that has to do with Swype.
